Once per battle, if this card battles an opponent's monster, during damage calculation (in either player's turn): You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; this card gains ATK equal to the ATK of the opponent's monster it is battling. Well, since it apparently doesn't possess a Rank-Up effect, it might be useful in Hazy Flames...as long as the materials stay generic and it doesn't have a Rank-Up effect. I could see that, since C15 and C40 did so. Also, the wording almost reads like it keeps the boost. I know it doesn't, but I still like it. Besides making it clear he gets his boost for Damage Calc only, I don't think it really needs a big one. Maybe just add the "Battle Damage" becomes halved thing. Unless you're running the Snatcher build (in which case you're awful), you can't really swarm the field with LV6 mons. Even if you can somehow, your Monarchs should have cleared all problem mons off the board. Even if they don't, why would you trade 3 of them for this thing? Prime Photon Dragon could too, but that is extremely unlikely given that Kaito is dead. Dragulong could have gotten one, but Kaito only ever used it once. Number 5 got a Rank Up, and we haven't even seen Number 5 yet. We've seen 64/100 Numbers. Fifteen of which, have Chaos Numbers. Shark Drake is the only one of those that doesn't have a Rank Up. I guess the scrapped the normal Chaos Number method for Ranking Up. OT: I like how it is generic. I'm curious to see how this will turn out IRL. How would you do C33 without heading into broken territory? Because #33 already does a lot. IMO. Unformed Void should have been a number. Even by the standards of Rank-Up monsters, it'd be ridiculous. It might be for the turn (like C39-Victory's anime effect according to the Duel with Eliphas), or just for that battle. Abyss Splash lasts for the Battle Phase so that seems the most likely answer. Even then, if given a multi-attack effect it can stack Honests.
