liljramos88 Posted February 18, 2014 Report Share Posted February 18, 2014 Ok never posted anything here so bare with me. i was reading about the new Ocg changes and saw that both players can have field spells on the field at the same time. so i figured that they are trying to make field spells more viable and so i thought what if the Field spell had a type For example Lets take the card Harpies Hunting Ground and add it a Type to a Mountain Terrain. Than Print cards that can be used according to the specified Field spells and there types these are examples. Spell Rock Slide You can activate this card as long you control a face-up Mountain Type field spell; Destroy 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. Monster Rock Wing Eagle lvl4 Wind Winged Beast/Effect If you control a face-up Mountain Type field spell you can special summon this card from your hand in face-up defense position. so what do you guys think of the new mechanic would you think field spells whould see more play. I think Field spells could make some killer combos [Some OP probably] that could benefit your deck, to me there are 4 kinds of decks. Leecher decks would use this so much. X'isionKnight Posted February 19, 2014 Report Share Posted February 19, 2014 I like the fact that field spells cannot be played over in the OCG but if it came to TCG i would dislike it. I understand the concept and I think that it probably is better but it Requires player who do play field spells to play more Backrow destruction as you would be using all your MST's and cards like that in order to keep your opponents field spell of the field which is a pain. Sleepy Posted February 20, 2014 Report Share Posted February 20, 2014 I in reality and in all honesty, like the new ruling outside of the fact I hate Necrovalley and cards that potentially screw with how certain decks are played in such a heavy way, and I'll miss the ability to take them out with my own. Other than that, not all that many people really have fun with Field Spell wars where you have to play yours on top of your opponent's until you both run out of them and the last one wins the last advantage. Besides, there are some interesting field combinations. A friend and I were having fun last year with this (back then imaginary) ruling. Having the Field Spell of EHERO and Ojamas at the same time felt pretty good. There's also that they are basically continuous Spell Cards now, but searchable and with an extra drawback, even without the new ruling. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
