Lunar Origins Posted February 25, 2014 Report Share Posted February 25, 2014 When a card is destroyed, except during the Battle Phase: You can Special Summon this card (from your hand or Graveyard). You can only Special Summon 1 "Typhoon Eater" per turn. When this card is destroyed: Target 1 Spell Card in your Graveyard; banish that target. On the 2nd Standby Phase after this effect's activation: Return 1 of your banished Spell Cards to your Deck. An Xyz monster with this card equipped as Xyz Material gains this effect: This card cannot detach Xyz Material or be used as Xyz Material for the Xyz Summon of an Xyz Monster. Sleepy Posted February 26, 2014 Report Share Posted February 26, 2014 It's a pretty interesting card. It gets the same Special Summon treatment as Interplanetarypurplythorny Dragon. It can be Normal Summoned and it can be revived. It has a use as Scrap Dragon fodder, savior of MSTd Call of the Haunted, it triggers Torrential Tribute nicely. The Spell recycle is not very note-worthy but it's an extra bonus, and those are welcome. Solid card. For "come back" effects, Aurora Wing and Behemoth don't really make the cut. Posted February 26, 2014 Report Share Posted February 26, 2014 You know, with regards to this card's effect, the fact it triggers off any card being destroyed(Assuming this, based on wording), and how it also revives itself from the Graveyard- Basically you could turn something like Space Typhoon into a +1. I mean, despite the fact you can only Special Summon 1 Eater per turn, it's still something you should be aware of, in the sense that things like random card destruction are going to lead into plays with this card.So it's just something to keep in mind. For some reason I was assuming it only triggered off of cards "you control", which would make for a real fine card.... but with that realization it looks a lot more questionable now. Posted February 26, 2014 Report Share Posted February 26, 2014 That was the point.But with this in mind, then it can easily become rather abusable.Mostly for the fact it's, to an extent, free Xyz/Synchro/etc fodder out of nowhere, just because you used Bottomless/Dark Hole/Typhoon/Mirror Force/etc/etc.I'm ignoring the fact it's a WIND Winged-Beast on top of this, because that just adds to it.
