goddamnit names are a pain
http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/03/17/ha-takes-a-serious-look-at-humor/?_php=true&_type=blogs&ref=science&_r=0 "Interestingly, though, the funniest people don’t live longer. Not only do they tend to be more neurotic, they are also likelier to smoke, to be more sedentary and to gain weight." Bar smoking because it is dope as hell, I'm fine with not being funny. Enjoy the fat, suckers~ It also implies smart people are funnier, so....yeah not me. And extroverts still make more jokes and are more funny.....OK I GET THE HINT I AM NOT FUNNY OK I have to read NYTimes articles for school each week and this caught my eye. Let me know if you passed your free 10 a month and I'll post the text for you. It was a good read, but not one of the best I've seen. I realllly like the science section of NYtimes. I'll post my review of it by tomorrow at noon since I have yet to fully type it/read the article to the end.
Tourmaline
It should be noted that not only do I lack a sense of humor (as those who have spoken with me privately may attest), but I am certainly not neurotic, do not smoke and have no weight problems. At least, in terms of myself, the first quote can be supported. I'm also not an extrovert, which further supports this as I become a statistic used to support this study. A rather interesting study, at that. Sincerely, however, humor/comedy are very interesting, and noting how they could describe deconstructive humor as a means of expressing an analysis of the world and society intelligently is actually something I always believed, too. It is, after all, finding entertainment in the breaking of logic or what "should" be, so good comedy should show some sort ot proficiency in identifying problems in a false order many people are fooled by. If you're Armz, though, you are a mass of walking comedic genius, the "genius" being both of his comedy and intelligence. Say, TGM, why do you always give my posts reps? You are very generous. Suibon
I wonder how they quantified 'fun' in their study. Did these 'funniest people' have to be stand-up comedians or something? (Haven't read the article, btw.)
