Target 1 face-up Xyz Monster that has an Xyz Monster(s) as its Xyz Material; randomly select 1 of that target's Xyz Material that is an Xyz Monster, then send the top card of that target to the Graveyard, and place the selected Xyz Material on the top of the stack as an Xyz Monster.
Essentially, a reversal of the Rank-Up process with slightly unpredictable results if you have several Xyz Monsters attached.

This card does what no other card so far has done before - treat the Xyz Monster as a pile of cards, rather than a single monster with some extras stapled onto it. I've tried to word it such that it stays as consistent as it can get without tripping state-based checks.

No Summons or detaching of Xyz Material is conducted during the effect's resolution.

What? I am really having trouble understanding what this card is supposed to be doing....

My best guest is something like this:

Target 1 face-up Xyz monter that has a Xyz monster attached to it as Xyz material; detach 1 of those material from that target, then place the top card from the deck of that target's control onto the new Xyz monster as Xyz material.

Not really sure if that's what you meant. And I don't see much use out of it except from Rank-up Deck, which I don't know a whole lot about. But hopefully that helps you :)

Ooh! I see now. I don't know where I got the part of showing the top card of the Deck from....must not have had my coffee yet. I'm still kinda lost how you would randomly select it. Having said that I honestly have no idea what to do haha. It seems to me you'd just be downgrading. Unless you meant to use this with something like shARK 101 to steal an xyz monster.

Allow me to explain this card's origins:

I've reflected upon how Xyz Monsters function like Duel Master's Evolution Creatures in that they form a stack of cards. Then I recalled Royal Durian, a DM card that "devolves" evolution creatures by forcing off the top card.

So I decided to create this card which interacts with Xyz Monsters that way. The problem is if it worked on any Xyz Monster, there's the problem of what to do with the cards underneath it, especially if there's a lack of space. So I reduced this card to only working on Xyz Monsters with Xyz Monster Xyz Material on them.

Then comes another issue - there's no regulation as to how the cards must be stacked. Anyone can simply rearrange the Xyz Materials with no hassle, because there hasn't been any game mechanic that relies on how they are stacked. So, instead, this card has to pick an Xyz Monster to replace the top card of the pile, instead of simply prying off the top card and creating issues if the opponent put the Xyz Monster on the bottom.

Why does it select randomly? That's in case it becomes too exploitable and you use it to degrade your own Xyz Monster to dodge targeting effects. It's not a matter if there's only one possible outcome, but if there are multiple Xyz Monster Xyz Materials, having control over what comes on top might be potent.

All in all, this is a card that's trying to do something out of the ordinary with regards to the entire Xyz Material stack.

From what I guather "the top card of that target" is what is confusing, and after reading it 3 times and reading the comments, I think I know what you mean.

I think it's not gonna be all that random because there aren't that many Xyz monsters that would have more than 1 Xyz in the materials, and the ones that could have it would usually deserve to choose well. There'a also that Xyz Materials very easily can go down to 1 in count, making the randomness even less likely.

The idea is pretty interesting. I think there's someone in Cardfight Vanguard that already did it back in season 2, but somehow it never happened to Yugioh before even though it was focusing on a stack mechanic as well.

That said, suggestions and an attempt to improve the lore combined:

Target 1 Xyz Monster on the field with an Xyz Monster attached to it: Send the target to the Graveyard, and if you do, Special Summon the attached Xyz Monster and attach all other of the target's Xyz Materials to it as Xyz Materials. You can only activate 1 "Pile Driver" per turn.
