TFMegamanlan
During either player's turn: You can discard this Card: "Crystal Beast" Spell Cards you currently control cannot be targeted by Opponent's card effects. If you do not control a Face-up Continuous or Field Spell Card: destroy this card. If this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: you may add 1 "Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins" or "Advanced Dark" from your Deck to your Hand.

The basic idea of this card is simple: there are 4 main problems with the Crystal Beast deck: 1. (And the biggest problem) The deck dies badly to backrow hate. 2. (Next problem) Mammoth and Cat are useless now in the game, Topaz and Tortoise areso-so at best and Eagle's really only good for the WIND Xyz plays. Crystal Beasts need some Crystals that are really playable. 3. The deck is kinda slow. It needs a lot to take off, and can be thrown off quickly with bad hands. 4. All the bosses that Crystal Beasts have access too, hurt the deck. Rainbow needs you to play /all/ Crystal Beasts including the bad ones. Then sends them to the Grave AND banishes them. Hamon requires that you lose 3 Crystals for him + dies really easily, and Dragon Queen doesn't have enough ATK to matter. The Malefic's either waste precious room in the Main or Extra to be useful. So I've made it my 'mission' to work on balanced Crystal Beast cards that can solve some of these problems and make the deck more effective and fun to play. This card will solve the first problem as far as it won't be something like a game-ender for Crystals and will give some small help to the third problem
The Short version: This will make Crystal Beasts not auto-lose to Backrow hate. Anyway, if you like this card, or have a way I can make it better or more balanced, let me know!
Sleepy
If you do not control a face-up Continuous or Field Spell Card, destroy this card. During either player's turn: You can discard this card: "Crystal Beast" Spell Cards you currently control cannot be destroyed by opponent's card effects. If this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins" or "Advanced Dark" from your Deck to your hand. -Moved the destruction clause (underlined) to first. I'm not sure if it's considered an effect or a sort of maintenance condition in these kinds of effects, so I better be safe than sorry and move it up there before the actual "for sure are effects". Also, at the very least I know it is NOT an ignition/trigger, but continuous, so good bye colon and hello comma. -Yeah it's not a typo, hand/field/opponent/destroyed are not capitalized, and Graveyard/Deck are, and the word "field" when talking about Field Spell Cards IS capitalized. In case it looks as if I mixed myself or something... As for the card itself: I'm curious if destruction is the bigger threat. I guess that MST, Breaker, Mobius that Side Decked Fairy Wind, and a random Malevolent Catastrophe. Though part of me was thinking it might be better as an anti-target effect. Still would cover MST, and Chidori/Ouroboros/Caius/Mobius/Breaker or most of what banishes or returns to the hand/Deck. Sadly Tiaramisu laughs it off still, but that's another story. Doesn't look too bad, considering it has decent ATK and at worst it is a Field Spell Searcher. Not too fond on how it takes up your Normal Summon for it though. I guess you could Set it and wait.... TFMegamanlan
The destroy isn't a Maintenance condition (as it's a negateable effect like E-HERO Captain Gold) but beyond that thanks. I was thinking just keep the destroy effect with the When destroyed effect. Usually Destruction will be more now (especially with Pendulums) but targeting my be a good idea to do as well. As for Tiramisu, well the gods that be don't always like her 'actions' and love to unleash their 'wrath' on her... If you know what I mean *cough*Divine Wrath*cough* For the Normal, I wanted it to mostly be a counter to Back-row hate first, and have that second way of also being able to be used as a beater for backup then be able to grab the Field's if it dies but again, that's a much smaller part of him. I like the idea of putting the effect as "Destroy or Target...", but does anyone think that may get a little OP or dumb?

Oh no, I didn't mean BOTH in the same card xD That'd render them mostly untouchable. Whatever you think is better, don't do both.
TFMegamanlan
Well, I may put this as Target as I have an Xyz Monster that will have an effect that says: "While this card has Xyz Materials: Opponent cannot destroy "Crystal Beast" Spell Cards." Trebuchet MS
Summon and maintain it, bait destruction, tutor a Crystal Beast Field? That's already pretty good, outclassing the other field tutor monsters, where you only have the option of either using it as a monster (with no additional effects) or discarding to tutor. TFMegamanlan
Actually the main effect is the discard. Also, I really wanted it to mostly be a monster that is like E-HERO Captain Gold for the Summon, but you only get a Field if it dies. But still, it's mostly made to be used for the Discard ability.
