Thanks to sakura I can now continue upload in peace. If you want to know how its done i will tell you. I don't know if this is right "Sea-Serpent-Type".

When you take damage from your opponent: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; reduce the damage to halve.

 

Ok here is some steps to put your image to your card:

 

1) pick any image you feel like finding and download it

2) go to Tinypic/Imgur or whatever image post you use

3) select the pic you downloaded under "choose file" and click upload now (If you see a video for a pass code just put the code they put).

4) When the upload is done copy the "Direct Link for Layouts"

5) Paste the url you copy under Pic. URL

6) Problem solve. (Generate your card)

Sea Serpent is spelled without a dash.

 

Seems like you got the right idea, but there are a few problems.

 

* There are only 2 level 6 sea serpents, one of them is Brionac (banned), the other is some OCG-only normal monster. So this is really hard to get out.

* The effect is really weak, you're not going to take much damage with a 2700 ATK monster anyway

* It's not clear when you halve the damage because that happens when the effect causing the damage is resolving, and trigger effects can't activate like that. I would make it worded like Zenmaines and make it a continuous effect, like:

 

"If you would take damage from your opponent, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card instead and halve it."

You can use DNA surgury and also use gagaga magician's effect which changes his level between 1-8 and if there is any card that can change the level of the monster you control

We evaluate based on the shortest amount of effort needed - i.e. which cards can work to make this by themselves. Requiring a specific combo to even Summon would count as "extensive effort", since you need specific cards on the field and hope none of them get countered. The more complex the lead-up is, the more the possible points of failure.

If you take damage from your opponent's card (either by battle or a card effect): You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; halve that damage.

 

Given its materials and as seattleite mentioned, only 2 Level 6 Sea Serpents exist; Brionac (which is banned) and Sea King Dragon (some Japan vanilla).

 

Granted, you could use Legendary Ocean on the stronger Mermails or something (all of which are Level 7; dropping them to 6), but that's gimmicky.

In all, this card can be summoned with the strict materials but any combos that lead up to it are situational at best.

 

Making the requirements WATER would make it easier to summon this.
