Still considering that Gagaga tend to have the ability to make various Xyz's by changing their own levels

You still need another monster that can specifically match with the Gagaga: a Malicious in the Graveyard, a Star Drawing that can change its own Level, an Instant Fusion, another Gagaga. Your Xyz options are still restricted heavily by the monsters in your Deck.

A Tuner with the Level-changing effect of Gagaga Magician would be able to Synchro for Stardust Spark/Scrap Dragon/Leoh/Star Eater in basically anything; it doesn't care about precision. In the same vein, a Pendulum Monster with variable Scale would let any Deck throw its hand on the field.

Except, of course, you still need a second pendulum monster with a high enough scale, just like you'd still need another monster.

To balance it, I would say "only use the effect of Kuriboh once while on the field. When this card would be sent to the graveyard, banish it instead."

This also happens to be a 100% upgrade of Kuriboh, if anybody thought about THAT Eff...

Also Pendulum eff is crazy strong. It also happens to proc magician, so you could pretty much run 3 of this instead of, or with, 1 of the other magicians, and still have pretty much the same thing AND a protective eff, not to mention it doesn't need another Magician to go off.

I recommend changing the Pendulum eff to "Can only be used once while this card is on the field," instead of once per turn. Also Monster effect should probably only proc while you have a Pendulum Monster on field and/or Pendulum Monster in your Pendulum Zone. Makes it slightly more balanced with that. Still issues though...Dunno how you would fix the 1-8 scale change without nearly removing it.

So first off, you made a pendulum that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too versatile. The magicians are restricted for even HAVING scales 1-8, so how on earth is having something that can actually BE any scale remotely intelligent design? It's support for a fucking throw your hand on the field mechanic done in the most haphazard way possible.

And then the latter effect is nothing but support for degenerate decks. Since when is free, unrestricted stalling remotely good for the gamestate? Hell, Kuriphoton wasn't good but it was usable, and this all but completely blows that out of the water.

All around unintelligent, terrible design.

I would rather make it like this:

Declare a number between 1 and 8: this card's Pendulum Scale becomes that declared number. You cannot Pendulum Summon the turn you activate this card. You can only have 1 "Odd-Eyes Kuriboh" in your Pendulum Zones.

During either players turn, you can discard this card; this turn, you take no battle damage involving Pendulum Monsters you control, also they cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects.
