Just a New Card Idea, plus I have no Idea what I am doing

Recommended Posts

"Ghost" is not a Type. May I suggest Fiend, Beast, or Zombie?

When this card is Summoned: You can be imediatly send this card to the Graveyard; to Special Summon 1 Level 7 or higher monster from your hand, ignoring all the Summoning conditions. When the special Summoned monster is destroyed: Special Summon this card from the Graveyard in face-up Defense Position face up on the field.

I will assume you SS from the hand. It's the only reasonable assumption.

So what I'm seeing is that this card is a pseudo-Boss Rush for anything LV7 or higher but cheats every form of Nomi restriction. And when that monster is destroyed, this card revives itself, thereby causing another opportunity for you to do it again. BLS EotB? You got it. SKYFIRE? Not a problem! Zielgigas? Gladly! Water Dragon or Gate Guardian? Hell yeah.

Did I mention you can instawin with Horakhty?

Since it takes a Tribute and the correct monster in hand to make it work anyways it's not an instawin machine. Zombies can't search it with Pyramid Turtle because of its DEF, and it doesn't have an infinite loop because it Summons from the hand and not the Graveyard. I don't see any functional problems.

The OCG and stuff is berfy though.

You have idea how broken this is.
Just take a few minutes and wikia the op monsters this thing can summon, then imagine that didnt work out, so you can have as many opportunities of this already op effect in a single turn for as many high level cards as you have in your hand?
BROKEN

Let's say you have a hand of

this card,

Cyber Dragon,

and 3 Ancient Gear Golem.

Your opponent brings out a monster and sets some cards.

You Special Summon the Cyber Dragon, Tribute it for this monster, and use this monster's effect to bring out 1 Golem.

Your opponent activates Bottomless Trap Hole and the Golem dies.

This comes back to the field, and you use its effect to bring out a second Golem.

Ancient Gear Golem attacks over their monster for lots of damage and you end your turn.

On your opponent's turn, he Xyz Summons ARK and eats your Golem. You now have no field and no way to Summon the third Golem, and you have few cards to contest him with because you spent so many resources bringing out a big monster from your hand.

This one of the happier scenarios. It's possible you'll have nothing to Tribute to bring the mammoth out, or nothing to Summon with the mammoth, or draw your Ancient Gear Golem with no mammoth.

My suggestion is:

Scratch the "ignoring the Summoning conditions" part completely in addition to Gadgitron's grammar corrections.

Also, you could instead of "Special Summon" make it an extra Normal Summon within the same turn, and give it a multi-Attribute effect (like Doriado's), that way you get to help Mega Monarchs a ton. The fact it comes back but can only reappear as often as you have hand is pretty cool.

Now if the monsters Summoned by this card's effect actually come from the Deck and not the hand, then it would need something else along the lines of:

When Summoned, except by it's own effect:

To prevent it from being a perpetual generic Boss Rush (with heavy Fairy decks could very well use, among potentially other more relevant cards). I would not like to see Treeborn Frog become this and turn into a Krystia from the deck, only to go back to the deck and make this come back to the field (that is, unless there's timing issues there, which I hope there are).

Now if the monsters Summoned by this card's effect actually come from the Deck and not the hand

it would be a fundamentally different card.

also I think my example should have used something stronger than Ancient Gear Golem. What's a searchable game-winning 7+ monster?

Indeed it would be, that's why it needed to be mentioned in that comment.

Though I wasn't the first one to mention it, and it's most likely not the case anyways, but thought it needed the mension at least.

There isn't really anything too game-breaking here, and even the potential boss monsters that look incredibly powerful would most likely result in somewhat inconsistent builds. It also needs to be mentioned that "ignoring the Summoning conditions" is not REALLY "ignoring the Summoning conditions" in Yugioh, and so this actually has unwritten given restrictions from that over-complicated ruling in the game that is most likely not the intention of the maker so I'll pretend it doesn't exist for this case:

That said, Vennominaga is the best affordable shot. There's also Horakthy, the Wiked gods, Rainbow Dragon (splash a small CB like Pegasus just for the sake of giving it the effect), you can bump Magnet Warriors and use this to bring out Valkyrion from the deck for a cool-looking swarm (just cool, not implying anything else). Neos Wiseman, and there's not much else that's actually better.

It still feels wrong to be able to "ignore the Summoning conditions" though. At the very least it creates the need to keep an eye on it for any nomi that'd otherwise would have no means around it.
