Mew is apparently suppose to be a new species, an ancestors of all living things. So, the effect is transform and/or metronome. Image is at anime.desktopnexus.com

2 Level 8 monsters
Until the End Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; target 1 monster on the field, graveyard, or removed from play; this card's name, effect, and ATK and DEF becomes that monster you targeted.

As it is now, it's simply a one-use card since the effects of whatever it copied expire at the End Phase of the turn and make this a 0/0 target. In this case, the effect is more like Transform [if you wanted to make it Metronome-esque; then making the targeted monster random would do it].

As a suggestion, perhaps make the effect applicable during your opponent's turn as well (Add a "During either player's turn" clause); that way, you can copy something and Mew won't be a complete open target.

Agreed. Another suggestion: Since the effect can only be used once, why not have it get rid of both (2) materials for its effect?
