宇佐見 蓮子@C94
Shortly means nearly seven hours later in my phrasebook. I think it's from the same guys who made the dirty Hungarian phrasebook. Do I have everybody's attention now? ...Now? ...Now? *laughs childishly* It's pretty fun doing that with my voice. Makes me feel like I'm a dictator. A hopelessly cute dictator, but a dictator nevertheless. That would be how I start mod announcements. Sitting on top of a pedestal with a tiara and a megaphone with the echo setting on max and using that phrase.
Desolate Lich of Frozen Hell WATER/Zombie ★★★★★★★★ Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your graveyard) by Banishing 2 Monsters from your Graveyard. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a monster is Special Summoned from the graveyard: You can discard this card; its effect(s) is negated, and it cannot be removed from the field until the End Phase of that turn. Once per turn: Place 1 monster on the top of your graveyard; Special Summon the monster on the top of your graveyard on the End Phase of that turn.
Hmm... ROMANTIC CHILDREN had an Xyz that messes with monsters.... KILL MAGIC had a Synchro that had a powerful "f*** you extra hard" effect, and now NECRO EFFECT has a card that plays with the graveyard... I didn't plan this out, guys! Honestly! By the way, the card is gorgeous with the Ritual template. Like, really, really gorgeous.
Trebuchet MS
...and it cannot be removed from the field until the End Phase of that turn. This also means that the opponent can't use it for any cost payments, right? Once per turn: Place 1 monster on the top of your graveyard; Special Summon the monster on the top of your graveyard on the End Phase of that turn. Sounds like a funny spin on the habit of putting cards being targeted in the Graveyard on top until the effect resolves. But what if your opponent gets rid of that card from the Graveyard, and underneath is a non-monster? No Special Summon happens?
宇佐見 蓮子@C94
Yeah, exactly that. That means you gotta pretty careful with the effect, otherwise you'll miss the effect or just revive a bad monster. As for the first part, you're also spot-on. It either gives your beatstick absolute protection or turns one of your opponent's into dead weight.
宇佐見 蓮子@C94
Yes, sir, I would like to bump this thread. It's not dead, is it?
CrowCardMaster
The...The effect is BEAUTIFUL T-T as in I read it and the grammer...i felt like you copy and pasted a card. ...Normal Summoned/Set... except this one little forward slash...is this really correct or is it suppose to be 'or'? Now on to the the card itself :3 I like the banish Summon thats usually not seen besides the 'Envoy' and a couple others, which makes it a risky card to summon unless you have tons of week cards in your graveyard which then doesnt make it risky. the Monster ontop of the graveyard is pretty cool effect, you could lets say use a card to send a Blue-Eyes to your graveyard then use this effect, now you just gotta wait till next turn. FREE BLUE-EYES BABY! lol I havn't seen a card this good in a long time, I admire the work you put into it. wish my cards would come out this good hehe
宇佐見 蓮子@C94
I think the new text writes it as Normal Summoned/Set, not sure though. The only part where you're wrong is the timing of the revive effect, because it activates on the same turn. Other than that, thanks for the comment! Darj
I don't like the "cannot be removed from the field" mechanic because it is too damn powerful; I wouldn't call it fair. The whole card doesn't look fair actually: It is a free beatstick, a hand trap that can break the opponent's combos or protect a big monster, AND a walking (albeit tricky) reborn, all in one. I find amusing how the hand trap effect not only removes the risk of this card ending as a dead card in the hand (which is one of the issues of high-Level monsters that cannot Special Summon themselves from the hand), but also sets the card up for its self-Summon from the grave. Anyways, for fixes, I suggest to nerf both effects: For the protection effect, replacing it wirh Felgrand-like "is unaffected by other card effects" effect should be good enough. And I think adding a "During your Main Phase 1" condition to the revival effect would be fair. That way, either you skip your BP to increase the chances of getting that monster, or engage in battle praying to not lose any card. Otherwise, you can just go "I use the effect on Main Phase 2 and get a free monster in the End Phase", unless the opponent drops an End-Phase MST or reserves his/her traps for your MP2. 宇佐見 蓮子@C94
If I just remove the effects you gain from discarding it but keep the discard effect itself, would that be overkill? In the meantime, I'll fix the second effect. EDIT: If I give it a "This card is Banished when it leaves the field" clause, would that make it more balanced? It would take care of the problem of it being easy to summon.

You may have to add a PSCT of "This card is banished when it leaves the field or is used as Xyz Material" to prevent Xyz material abuse. As for the discard effects, yes, removing them would be an overkill, just nerf them a bit. But after the clause you suggest, I think they don't need to be nerfed anymore. I'm still not sure on the "cannot be removed from the field" mechanic, but at the same time it is an interesting and unique effect that adds creativity to the card.
