Zauls
fine i'll run shitty anti synchros just for this lmao you actually think that Goyo to 1 will make you have to run "shitty anti-synchros"? All it will do is give decks that can already make Level 6 Synchros a better Level 6 Synchro to make. Its ridiculous even suggesting that you have to change your deck specifically to counter a single Goyo Guardian.
Airride
Excuse me for being dumb but...how do Shadolls make this? Besides that, the only realy reason I'm skeptical is due to the overwhelming ATK (Bigger than any generic Level 7 Synchro) I mean, the game has changed and this'll be a lot easier to deal with (D-Prison and Mirror Force @3, anybody?) Aix
i've dueled goyo at 1 before, YES I WILL HAVE TO CHANGE MY DECK. You go do that. i love goyo. it's amazingly fun, it's such an interesting concept that can lead to loads of cool stuff happening. i was gutted when it was banned and i'm over the moon now. it's powerful, it's arguably broken but i think it's worth having a card that's borderline imbalanced just for the fun and variety goyo brings to the game. I actually agree with this.
Kazooie
I was glad when this was banned, and while I'm not happy it's coming back, I'm looking at it the same way I looked at BLS. And this is significantly less strong now then BLS was when it came back. Almost every deck was running BLS when it returned, and while any deck that can summon this will run it, I don't think it'll be too bad. I'll get used to it eventually. evilfusion
i've dueled goyo at 1 before, YES I WILL HAVE TO CHANGE MY DECK. Run 3 Mirror Force and 3 D-Prison. Can't kill your monsters in battle if they keep running into anti-attack Traps.
J-Max
With Prison and Mirror at 3, Goyo Guardian at 1 is actually not that scary of a monster anymore. Back when Mirror was at 1 though... Good grief.
Agro
With Prison and Mirror at 3, Goyo Guardian at 1 is actually not that scary of a monster anymore. Back when Mirror was at 1 though... Good grief. that's not the reason tho Goyo just isn't likely to steal anything important anymore, and even then, it likely won't end games or turn the tables completely. Hands, and many other cards can eliminate it and whatever it steals within a turn. And that's all alongside a backrow-heavy format.
Coffee Black
Nostalgia <3 Literally made me google search a topic I made when this card was at its most hated, all the way back in 2010, 4 years ago. Design wise it just seemed so ridiculous. Besides Brio no other synchro at its level could compare. It was legal back when backrow wasn't as prominent: you might have had 1 or 2 backrow at times but decks were certainly more monster heavy. When you saw it in action, it just felt like it was impossible to get over, and would just steal any monsters you put on the board. Also with Goyo, since it was so easy to summon it felt as if any deck could summon it at will, and suddenly swing the game in the user's favor. With that said I have no issue with it coming back, it just kinda feels like a relic of its time to me. 'Destroy by battle' type of effects seem very risky with how many generic answers any given deck has these days. Goyo never really supported a strategy, it just kind of attacked everything and hoped for the best. Literally no 1 deck I can think of gains much benefit from it being legal. I'll say this tho... if someone beats me with this thing I'll be so salty
Azuh
Goyo is still good guys. Gives you a reason to actually go into a Level 6 Synchro has the ability to tie the game around like how Ark does.
