"Slow" as in "something else has to set it up, and it must be Normal Summoned". As opposed to Tour Guide or Bujin Hirume, which are "fast", or Obedience Schooled, which is "instant".

 

You made easy set-up sound terrible.

I dunno. I just prefer cards that require zero setup and have zero possibility of being dead draws. This does cool Synchro things, but for Rank 3 I'd rather use Tour Guide and Soul Charge. Game's gotten too fast.


Soul Charge technically requires more setup than Crane Crane...

Silly boy, you don't use either this or Tour Guide in Burning Abyss, you use BOTH.

As for other decks, Tour Guide is indeed the best option for free Rank 3's, but this card can be helpful in decks that setup the graveyard fast and Synchro Summon Level 6's a lot, not to mention it has some unique niches - like being a Winged-Beast for Dragunity Knights and Earth for Meliae - TGU lacks. It's not something you should use over TGU if summoning Rank 3's is the only thing that matters to you - and you are not running something like Block Golem - , IMO, but for other uses or even to support TGU plays, if deckspace is enough, that's the critter to go.

Every card is potentially a dead draw, however remote the odds, so that's terrible logic.
