Metaion the Timelord

Recommended Posts

So, someone just sided this ( very successfully) against me when I was testing Qliphorts. as it stopped my Killer and then prevented me from making a comeback in my next turn, so:

Cannot be Special Summoned from the Deck. If you control no monsters, you can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. This card cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects. You take no Battle Damage from battles involving this face-up Attack Position card. At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked: Return all other monsters on the field to the hand, and inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each card returned. During your Standby Phase: Shuffle this card into the Deck (even if face-down).

So, discuss a potentially very good anti-Qliphort tech?

Metaion has always been a neat anti-meta card, though it's not the easiest thing to fit into decks.  I do wish we got more of the non-broken Timelords (that is, the ones that aren't Sandaion, Michion, Raphion and Tzaphion).

Gabrion was pretty vicious, too. When it battles, it returns all opposing cards to the Deck.

The Temporal Machine Gods were ALL broken. That was their shtick. Metaion and Razion came the closest to not being broken.

I meant the Tag Force versions.  Whenever I bring them up, I'm referring to their Tag Force versions by default.

Never played it, so I assume the anime versions by default.

And yet, Tag Force still made half the TMGs ridiculous?

In Tag Force, Gabrion only spins one card, your Life Points have to be lower for Hairon, Camion only spins one monster and inflicts a token 500 damage, and Zadion only heals your LP to 4000 if it's less than 4000. The rest may as well be unchanged, given how str0nk they are.

'Cept in the anime, they had no 'you can Summon this card without Tributes' effect, or at least, if I remember correctly. Hence why ZONE always used those Zero Machines.
Still, though, their effects were outright bonkers.

A. Oldish news

B. Why are you keeping killer in after G1?

C. Why are you even maining killer? It's honestly not worth the early game dead draw.

A. Sorry, if it was in the page on Apoqliphoth Killer, then I probably didn't look far enough into it to see peoples' counters to it.

B. Um, I dunno... I like it?

C. I personally think it's nice to have 1 for lockdown purposes against most decks.

Yeah, they really were, but I just thought Metaion seemed appropriately suited against Qliphorts.

I actually run meta in the side for my qli for the moment, I usually switch in for my main deck killer pair. I actually like the results as it allows me to reset and make a new stage on the field, plus it usually has no problems with my high rate of draw since I like using precious cards from beyond ( which I must remember to always play only before my first 2+ tribute since drawing it.)

I've always loved this card.

I've barely touched Qliph<spelling>s, but they're Pendulum Monsters, not Xyz's or Synchros. Why do I care if they get put back in my hand? The only one I can't immediately summon again is Killer, which I can't imagine running more than 1 of. Yes, Pendulum Summoned Qliph<spelling>s are weaker and have no effects, but my raw card advantage is the same.
