XX-Saber Gottoms

Same as they should have sticked with just Red Nova as the "2 Tuners" guy and Vylon Omega was redunant. IMO this kind of design is passable, but ONLY if it's a one-time thing. Like Number F0 - it flat out uses Xyzs as materials, and not in a Rank-Up way. It's an interesting oddity, just like Gottoms and Red Nova are, but there shouldn't be any more.

But Red Nova design doesn't defeat the purpose of Synchros. If anything, it takes the already mostly well designed Synchro Mechanic and adds on a second non-generic monster required.

This means that it can be a bit more powerful than other Synchros that are technically on the same level because it requires more effort to pull off. This is part of why Red Nova is an oddity, considering that it rewards you less than Shooting Star Dragon does for being less generic on every level.

If anything, Double Tuner design is superior to Accel Synchro design, and that the former definitely should have seen more use as a balancing factor. 3-mats that take 2 tuners + 1+ non could be very well designed cards because of the effort it takes to make them, in theory.

OF course, Konami would screw it up, but it's still a cool and fair design ideal.

Gottoms, however, is terrible design because it removes the need for both a tuner AND non-tuner; you can use non-generic cards as generic cards, meaning it's way too easy to summon for what it is. As opposed to Red Nova/Vylon Omega, which reward you for upping your non-generic count (on paper/in design).

Hm, I guess you're right on the Gottoms part, that's why I said that as bad as it is, it's something different and shouldn't appear more than once.

I'd disagree on Red Nova part though, since all in all, idea of Synchros is "1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner", so 2 Tuners kinda skews it, HOWEVER, yes, it still needs you to have a non-tuner, unlike Gottoms here.
