ITT: Konami implements a new rule involving Extra Decks

Seeing how Konami is pushing monster category diversity in the Extra Deck as of late, then this rule should come into existence:

An Extra Deck with a single category of monster in it (Fusion, Synchro, Xyz) can have up to 15 cards.

An Extra Deck with two categories of monsters in it (Fusion and Synchro, Fusion and Xyz, or Synchro and Xyz) can have up to 10 cards per category.

An Extra Deck with three categories of monsters in it (Fusion, Synchro and Xyz) can have up to 7-8 cards per category (Not sure if 7 or 8 would be better.  That would be decided later).

If this Extra Deck rule came into existence, it would sufficiently power up the Extra Deck in a balanced setting.  Would it work, though?

From a game design stand-point, that's a bad idea.  It promotes utilizing only one mechanics when ideally decks should be using as many as possible. It might balance the game, but Konami uses the banlist for that.

Tell me how it would promote utilizing only one mechanic if a player is allowed more space for using different Extra Deck cards in in their Extra Deck.

It penalizes people for playing Noden, I'm all for it xD

I can't name many practical uses for it at the moment, though.

Only if they're using it for Xyz, and at that, they'd only loose 2-3 cards. If the deck using it was sycnhros, it would BENEFIT somewhat; They could use stuff like the level 3/5 Fusions, especially ones with specific attributes, to have even MORE control over what they summon.

Otherwise; For 3, I would have it be 7 max for each, with a total max of 25, mainly to keep it at a round-ish number, and limiting what one can do with that.

7+7 = 14 + 7 = 21

21 =/= 25

Who taught you math? Slap them.

An ok ratio would probably be along the lines of:
1 kind = 15 cards max for it

2 kinds = 9 cards max for each (18 total max)

3 kinds = 7 cards max for each (21 total max)

It is a little bit more restrictive than yours, but it starts at the usual 15 card limit and grows at a steady pace without much of a gap anywhere.

Or you could have it:
1 = 15 of it

2 = 10 of each (max 20)

3 = 8 of each (max 24)

but if the increase is big enough to not notice/feel too much of a difference in the restrictions, might as well just increase it generally or make it more tight xD

I personally find it interesting, with the only issue that it sounds problematic to elaborate too much on how much of each thing goes there. Your plan seems still within reasonable margins of complexity as of right now, IMO. So yeah, sounds interesting.
