ITT: Pendulums~

ITT:

Pendulum Monsters can no longer be Pendulum Summoned from the Extra Deck, and instead become a fodder pool.

What I mean by this is that they can be used for other kinds of Summoning by taking them out of the Extra Deck and into the Graveyard. Tribute, Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz fodder. Under reasonable investment other than "for free" of course. For example:
-Tribute fodder would obviously require you to have that high Level monster in the hand, Ritual fodder would still require you to have the Spell and Monster around, Fusion fodder would require the Poly, Synchro fodder would require the Tuner to be around, the Xyz fodder would require at least one matching Material for the Summon to be face-up on your field...  as hypothetical "drawbacks".

This usage would NOT require the Pendulums in the Extra Deck to be Summoned to be used, and would not require them to match any Scales the player might currently have.

Something that just from design alone I still cannot dig personally, is the concept of a mechanic where multiple boss monsters can just come back from their own version of the Graveyard for free next turn, at no additional cost other than the setup they already made for the previous Pendulum Summon last turn.

I think it is by far the most badly designed Summon mechanic up to date, and although my idea is far from perfect, and arguably not even good, I think it'd still be more "fair" than what we actually got IRL.

Yes that'd most likely kill the mechanic in the metagame considering the Pendulums we currently have, but said Pendulums up until now have been trying to hold back in fear of messing up in a way Konami wouldn't be able to predict (which excludes Qliphs because those were intended). I think with this change they'd be able to support the other mechanics, which is what the anime was hinting at them being good for. It also is now able to design pendulums for existing archetypes in a way that'd further help older cards into the new era instead of making Pendulums just the new archetypes that need to work for easy scale setup above all else. It also powercreeps stuff a bit more slowly.

Just a random thought and an awkward experiment.
