Maeriberii Haan
Each time a "Hermit Youkai" monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned, place 1 ??? Counters on this card. You can remove any number of ??? Counters from this card to activate these effects. You can only use this effect of "Youkai Shrine of Trials" once per turn. ● 1 Counters: All "Hermit Youkai" monsters you control gain 300 ATK until the end of this turn. ● 3 Counters: Add 1 "Hermit Youkai" card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. Enjoy your Infinite Barrier Works. Also, can you remove 4 counters to activate both effects? Not sure due to the wording (since I think it refers to you can only remove the counters once per turn). Blake
Well that's not absurdly good or anything
Maeriberii Haan
Man, it's hard just to summon 2 monsters in a turn these days in that deck, how can I expect myself to summon 3 in a turn? And if I wait for the next turn to fill the counter for the search, it'll just get MSTd or something. Too overbalanced. Should've searched by paying 1 counters. This card is once per turn anyways so that won't be broken. Am I doing it right?
SirReal
Meh DDDs get a free search every turn for 1000 LP that can be mitigated by Leonidas. I agree. Too overbalanced for the archetype. Though it's not like the archetype is bad or anything. Also, this cannot be searched by Kamamitachi since it is not a "Hermit Youkai" card. Pchi
On the other hand, you can search for their S/T cards, including that ridiculously powerful Counter Trap, and bring them back indefinitely, which is something DD's can't brag about. Blake
So its a fix'd gateway for hermit youkai not bad. though I have no idea how to play the deck xD Weasel, Weasel, Weasel, Poke, search, bounce Weasel, (optional weasels), Evil!Weasel, weasel/pillar from the deck, poke, search, bounce (optional weasels), Monarch storm forth, evil!weasel, weasel/pillar from the deck, poke, search, bounce It's spam, so this isn't "fixed" by any means. Also Divine Wind.
Maeriberii Haan
2 would arguably make this card too good, but 3 somewhat requires you to get more and more specific combination. Still a completely amazing card, though 3 would make that the chance of you opening with a Youkai + Field + Barrier field smaller. Also this card really justifies going first in Yokai, since you'll want to rack counters as early as possible.
Atypical-Abbie
Well, at least it takes some work to get going, but still, it's very easy to use in the Deck, and considering that it can also grab from the Graveyard, infinite Spell/Traps FTW. I guess another way you could use this is by putting multiple up at the same time, then when you have 3, you can remove from one of them, and then have another one next turn, so that's nice I suppose. I'm fine with this card really, they already do a lot of stuff quite fast, so having a card that's a bit slower is a nice change of pace.
