Solar Prince the banisher

Here is a new card I created: Solar Prince, a monster that can banish a monster instead of simply destroying it.

Lore: 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monster. Once per turn, when this monster destroys a monster in Attack Position during the Battle Phase, the destroyed monster is banished instead.

Needless to say Battle Damage isn't applied, since there is no destruction. Personally, I find it perfect to deal with those monsters that "cannot be destroyed by battle". How about thrown in a different dimention, for a change? Banishing Stroke!

Actually, battle damage is still applied if it destroys something + damage would occur.

Take a look at Dark Magician of Chaos; essentially the same effect as your card does. So the situation you mentioned wouldn't happen.

In perspective, this card's effect is simply a weaker variant of it (given that it only deal with Attack Position monsters; stuff like Spirit Reaper and Marshmallon [which I think are still used in Stall Decks nowadays] don't really care)

Compared to other generic Level 8 Synchros such as Scrap Dragon, (Hot) RDA, it is somewhat lacking; both in versatility (though it is possible to make 2-mat Level 8 Synchros in a couple Decks) and power. Banishing a problematic monster is nice, but as mentioned, your card doesn't avoid battle damage like you noted.

In addition to this, you made it seem as though it would ignore effects such as "This card cannot be destroyed in battle". This simply isn't the case, if it can't be destroyed by battle, it can't be destroyed by battle.

Your card can't just completely ignore this without a specific effect saying so.

If you want to banish instead of destroying and without inflicting battle damage, I believe this is the effect your should be using:

At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles a face-up Attack Position monster: Banish that monster.

Now, with the above effect, I think the card would be actually fair. Banishing anything in Attack Position is really strong, but is balanced by requiring to attack, being relatively weak stat-wise for a level 8 Synchro, and, as Sakura pointed out, facing competition with other Synchro8s such as the Stardusts, Hot Red Archfiend, Scrap Dragon, etc.
