This can be extremely cruel with cards like Level Limit Area A. But, since a lot of decks has Rank 4 Xyz's, ths card may help your opponent to bring out them, also helps Tribute Summoning. However, if you placing spell/trap cards to the monster zone, they are treated as monsters, so they can be use as xyz/synchro material. "Choose a number from 1 to 3..." Choosing is unnecessary, because everyone will choose the 3, but i find 3 is too much. Just 1 excavate/turn/card. Now for the cards: I made some fixes instead of explaining. If your opponent controls 3 or 4 monsters, you will not be able to use the effect of "excavate 3" since your opponent do not have enough open spaces. 3 was chosen since there is a chance you will not get the Special Summon in the first place while 1 had way slimmer chances of actually clogging your opponent's 5 monsters zone.
