Level Lifter

Send 1 monster from your hand to the Graveyard, then target up to 2face-up monsters you control; their Levels become the original Level of the monster sent to the Graveyard to activate this card, until the end of this turn.

This makes some awkward levels a lot easier to make, really wish I'd have known about this card earlier.

Hmmm...this has some interesting applications, but it's very conditional. It only affects up to 2 of your monsters, so you need at least 2 monsters already on the Field, plus this, plus a monster in your hand with an exploitable Level. That's a 4 card investment already.

My best thought is to make Rank 9 more playable, using things like Star Cruiser IX as the discard and a Machine-focused Deck using stuff like Gadgets or Toy Knight/etc. But even then, IX and Inferno Reckless Summon do it with less resources (and still takes 3 cards and a specific setup).

But I want No.92 to work!

This card is actually underrated.
I mean, it's a -2, yes, but it effectively lets you play any Xyz you want, provided, you discard something of an appropriate level.

And that's what hurts it the most. You need to ditch a monster with the Level you want. If you have a very focused Deck with mostly Level 5s, for example, you don't really need this because you probably have methods to bring out numerous Level 5s. If you have a Deck with a wider Level range, this is inconsistent.

Then again...this card still lets you bring out Synchro monsters. THAT has a lot of interesting potential.

I always wonder how come Konami doesn't make these Level altering effects into staying ones rather than "this turn", and what would be wrong about being able to also alter opponent's monster's Levels. That'd open up for other plays without making it broken necessarily.

Like that Spell that lets you control a monster by discarding 1 with the same Level, or random Burden of the Mighty play, among other things.

I mean, these are usually at least -1 plays, and level-modifiers usually are bested by just running consistent Levels for the plays you want to begin with anyways.
