Darj
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Chain Burst" or "Widespread" Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. If this card is sent from the hand or field to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Claymore Token" (Machine-Type/FIRE/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 700). If this Token is destroyed, you can destroy 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field. Felt like making a Myrmeleo-ish monster for Machines and this is what I came up with. Not much to say; it's best targets are "Widespread Ruin", some sort of Sakuretsu Armor, and "Widespread Dud". Also the Token can be used to pop any Dud you drew or searched with its first effect. VampireofDarkness
First you make Mercenary, now you got this? Hmmm, interesting card to say the least. The difference between this and Mercenary is I never considered the Widespread cards to have any sort of use with them. However, with that token, you may be onto something. As an aggro player, I would feel less of a desire to completely overextend and go all in if I knew a Widespread Dud was set and I had nothing to counter the Claymore Token play. I would argue this card to be Anti DAD since usually with DAD you have another monster, maybe 2 or 3 when you drop it and you're gonna try to go for game. This just straight up says no, and tbh I like it and think we need something like this in the game. It isn't the worst thing in the world, but it also really holds off the whole "All in, no fear" going on recently. In fact, this in BA against Qlis sounds too funny. Search Dud, they bounce with Carrier, you activate Wing Blast to get your token, and now they can't OTK. Not sure how viable that would be or if they even have the space, but that's feature match worthy plays. The only thing is that since this card is a FIRE Machine Type, I have no clue what to use it in. It hurts because like Mega Caius, this card is amazing, but it has no promising Deck for it to fit in. However, as a card on its own, it is fantastic and would love to see this somehow become live in the game, as it would give the game a much needed slow down
Toffee.
I find it amusing how you have this searching Chain Burst, despite the fact the card in question only shows said Claymore card, despite the fact it doesn't actually have Widespread OR Claymore in the name. Furthermore, it's an odd card to add to the searching pool, because it comes off as being counterproductive in the sense that it's a Trap that punishes people for using Traps.HOWEVER.....It's also an interesting pints BECAUSE it searches it, not just because of the relatable artwork, but because Chain Burst could be a pretty live card now-a-days, what with everyone's on-and-off backrow fetish/etc. So it's always nice that a card like this card search more then 2 cards, since, you know, Ruin/Dud are the only actual Claymores, and, as you stated, you wanted this along the lines of Traptrix, who have the handful of Trap Hole cards.Yes, it's silly that I comment on the fact it can search a non-Claymore, but I like that bit. Darj
You got that right: It searches Chain Burst just for flavor, because it depicts the same landmine seen in Dud. Never thought of actually using it to punish backrow decks, though.
