Just Crouton
Dark Magician Mahado This card's name is treated as "Dark Magician". ① You can Tribute Summon this card by Tributing 1 Spellcaster-Type monster you control. ② You can discard 1 card to target 1 card on the field; destroy that target. ③ If "Dark Magician Girl" is face-up on the field: This card gains 500 ATK. ④ If this card is destroyed by battle or by card effect: You can Special Summon 1 Level 7 or lower "Dark Magician" monster from your hand/Deck/Graveyard, except "Dark Magician" or "Skilled Dark Magician". __________________ Because the vanilla sucks. Was going to make it a Pendulum (for some stupid reason,) but made it an Effect to keep with the original series. The destruction effect is based on Thousand Knives. The Dark Magician Girl stuff because their relationship. Effect 4 was really meant for Girl, but can probably get other stuff. Level 7 or lower because DMoC is Level 8. No self-Special Summoning stuff to avoid making stuff like Dark Magic Curtain, Eternal Soul, and Dark Renewal pointless in a hypothetical deck. inb4theartisfromanexistingcard
Horu
I like the Batman sig. Totally bat-tastic! The card is kinda cool too, I guess. I'm not really a Dark Magician fan.

Please abide by the Advanced Clause. Talking about the user's sig isn't part of a proper review, according to the section rules. You need to mention something related to the card's design in at least 2-3 sentences.
Son of Aphrodite
Appearance Personally, I do not find the overall appearance of the card appealing at all. The artwork is dull and common, the card itself looks too messy. I'm really expecting to see a Dark Magician card with a fresh look yet preserves the magician's style. Lore He seems like an almost-self-sufficient-field-securing, version of Dark Magician. The second effect is a bit too much, you could at least limit it to one or two at most cards. if prepared in a great combo, this card could go overkill. The fourth effect confuses me, i'm not sure about this: if Dark Magician Mahado is destroyed, you get to summon a Dark Magician monster except "Dark Magician" Dark Magician Mahado's name is treated as "Dark Magician" but still, Dark Magician Mahado is still Mahado, so does this mean that you can special summon this card? plus, based on my readings, the effect that summons a Dark magician monster takes place when the monster is already destroyed (in normal cases, Mahado is already in the graveyard) so he can summon himself again? so i guess this is the major issue here. wait. Am i being dumb here? correct me if i'm wrong mate. that's all. lovelots.
Judαs
The You can discard 1 card to target 1 card on the field; destroy that target. really sticks out like sore thumb. It might not even be that bad in reality, but it seems whenever something like this is released, it eventually gets banned or limited. Dark magician can be played in prophecy, and even without judgment they can maintain decent hand advantage. the best thing would be to just 'once per turn' it, just to be on the safe side. Apart from that, it's pretty generic (and nice) although I don't see why you shouldn't allow it to get Skilled Dark magician out, I know it can search this card out but, it seems fair enough. edit: oh, it's because of the Japanese names. my bad. Like Harpie Lady 1-3, Mahado is always treated as Dark Magician, not by his printed name, which means he can't Special Summon himself.
