Nigel Farage wants the BBC to stop making shows like Doctor Who, Strictly, Top Gear, etc

I had no idea who this was an I'm British. I don't see how wanting to stop some of the BBC's most popular shows can benefit his party in the slightest.

Oh well not really going to vote for Stormont let alone PM. Only going to vote for the party that actually does something.

Stormont? Oh, if you're in Northern Ireland, you've probably heard less of Farage's antics. I mean, he's absurdly traditionalist, he knows what kind of people vote for him (essentially anyone who lives in the small English traditional towns). He's kinda racist, pretty anti-immigration, kinda homophobic, all round nutter.

It's not like this is really going to dent his chances.

Like the proportion of people who were happy to vote for him despite the racism, and would suddenly be put off by this must be tiny.

In essence it's just a play on the age old idea that; 'Bad publicity is still publicity. And all publicity is good publicity.'

As Rai said, Farage knows what sorts of people will vote for him, so he's playing for them. Given that the idea of a majority goverment seems a little far off this time around, he's just trying to get enough seats to be at the bargaining table when it comes to choosing the next coalition.

And this was not unexpected when you consider his constituents (Who are the kind to dislike the 'new bbc'), and Farage's well know distaste of the current BBC.

I'm guessing this is your guy's version of s*** Wommnie. And yes, I spelt that dumbass's name like that for a reason. The asshat who tried to run for office a couple years ago.

For the record, Romney wasn't half bad as a governor. (I should know: I'm a Bay Stater and was aligned with him during his gubernatorial campaign.) It's just it was when he tried to get overambitious that things fell apart. Running for president meant he had to curry favor with the greater GOP, and since Massachusetts' Republicans are actually relatively centrist, that meant he had to appeal to the nutters.

But yeah, anyone else getting whiffs of 1984 yet?
