Changing Usage - Toy Vendor

I'm startled how little the summon effect on this card ever comes up. If I'm using this card in Fluffals, the summon thing is barely ever important unless I draw into Dog. More often than not, I'm using this to discard another Vendor for the search, or I'm discarding Chain, also for the search. Probably one of the best payoffs my deck can generate is using this card in conjunction with Magical Hats (which nobody ever sees coming these days, it seems), or use a spent Galaxy Cyclone or a spare Tiger pop to get a search.

Do you think the summon effect still has a lot of merit to Fluffal decks? Or has it's search effects eclipsed the summoning effect as the way to go now?

Once I was playing Vampires with Frightfur on DN and they called Spell. Needless to say I won the next turn because Toypot is godlike on the search game

Honestly, it's a 3-of because of the fact that it searches your entire deck off itself. The summon effect is utterly irrelevant except to discard copies of itself to search your combo pieces. Especially with Sheep being a thing, Fluffals don't really need any help in getting themselves out of the hand, and their normal summon is enough most times. Their hand is fragile too, so even sabres shenanigans is too much. I have gotten some mileage out of using Edge Imp Chain though, since it can get cards off being fused or Vendor'd

"Changing usage"

What do you mean changing? The intent of this card was always to get advantage off of the discard while getting lucky is really nice, even if it's hitting sabres (NECH) =x

Fusion Recovery (relevant with owl), Fusion Reserve, second/third Vendor, and Scarm in the past, and Chain adds to that in the present. And bear getting it is advantage due to the existance of Frightfur Fusion.

Post-VP14, it was notably stronger because you could pop it with your own Tiger, which asserted the fact that it was fodder. Pre-VP14, there was no real point to playing the deck, so may as well just be post-NECH.

It's never really been about the summon. The summon is "oh hey, I got lucky, gg".
