Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn
Xyz/Effect Monster
LIGHT Rank 4
Fairy-Type
ATK 2000 DEF 800
2 Level 4 monsters
You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard, then draw cards equal to the number of “Lightsworn” cards sent to the Graveyard by this effect. If this card is destroyed by battle, or if this card in its owner’s possession is destroyed by an opponent’s card effect: You can send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard, then you can destroy cards on the field up to the number of “Lightsworn” cards sent to the Graveyard by this effect. You can only use each effect of “Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn” once per turn.

Next YCS Prize Card.

Does this mean she's legal next YCMCS?

I'm beyond funking pissed at this because Shaddoll, Infernoid and Clownblade lost an amazing set-up card.

Seriously funk Konami, I hope someone shits down the throat of every person involved in this selection.

And this reaction (which is founded) sells the idea of a Lavalval Chain ban more to me than ever.

While this is weaker, it fills the slot Chain leaves, in theory, which means that this could be a GIANT money card for them along the lines of Dark End Dragon (iirc).

What a PR nightmare. Not only were people waiting for this card, we can now add it to the list of TCG cards that will never be playable. I'm sure anyone who plays Lightsworn is now extremely happy, a proverbial kick in the ovaries because how dare you not be Japanese, right? Honestly this just adds more emphasis to the fact Konami's release policy is legitimate miserable and counterproductive. Why should any Lightsworn player even buy cards now?

This is exactly what I mean by Konami betraying consumers. I actually feel backstabbed. I was under the assumption I'd be able to play with this card at some point on my lifetime. But no, let's hear Konami's TCG PR department spew out some bullshit about Kozmo to sell those.

This release policy honestly makes Pokemon's mess of a set release system look good.

The only good thing about this is that it means Infinity is not the prize card. If that happened I'd have quit this game outright.

Yet another thing to distract us from the lack of a list.

There shouldn't be any prize cards, and if they are, they should be things made exclusively for the event. This just sets a precedent for more OCG exclusives, an already terrible idea, to be made into prize cards, an even more terrible idea, I mean if we want to go for a cocktail of everything that makes the release policy quite possibly the worst I've ever seen and probably will see in my life, let's make it exclusive to North America and you only get it in 1 in 24 YCS events.

That's the thing. There are no cash prizes in this game so in order to stay relevant and ahead of ARG, Konami is pushing the envelope with playable prize cards. It's a f***ing awful way to do business but it's what we're stuck with when we have so many incompetent, out-of-touch people working at KDE.

Let's just make this tl;dr.

Konami is funking the playerbase, long dick style.

Bam! Two cards worthy of YCS standards. Decks can use these or not and they will still function the same. Not only this, but the OCG has released things like Horakhty, Magi Magi, Creator of Hope, Creator of Miracles, Dark Magician (Arkana) which have the opportunity to be better prizes

Woo, let's introduce the slippery slope of Crush Card Virus 2.0, am I right? I mean, I barely even play this game, let alone Lightsworn, and even I'm annoyed by this. There's absolutely nothing the community can do at this point, either. This company is absolutely awful.

who even cares about ls

this is an excuse to remove Chain from the game... and milk it to get a leg-up on their competition at the same time, thus making fans 'happy' while lining their pockets.

Decks like Masao and more lose the replacement in the name of this prize raking in cash and making their tourney a priority.

At this point, I want Chain to live, if this is the irl alternative to face.

As long as it still gets released in the next WorldSuperstars pack, it'll be okay...

Aw, who the hell expects that to happen.

And, really, Prize cards should be mostly useless stuff that just looks cool for getting. You know, like the Match Winners.

How is anyone going to be happy because of this decision? They went and made a card people were excited for, a card that was already an OCG exclusive, into something only a very specific brand of sell out "professional" players can obtain. These players are also probably the ones partly behind the artificial card price inflater of the ARG "banlist"

I mean, I utterly hate ARG with a passion so I'm probably biased against them. But either way, Konami loses here. I'm just going to say to everyone who wanted this card not to buy any packs from official Konami stores, just buy singles online, or play online. I hope this proves exactly why Konami aren't worth spending your money on at the moment.

Still waiting for No.106. And Dragoascension.

You know, the previous prize cards. One of which is EXTREMELY desired for collector's value, and until we have it wider spread, RUM - The Seventh One can't be used for C106. This is irrelevant, but aggravating.

Wtf

Why is infinity not being the prize card good lmao. If anything i'd have that cancer as the prize over this. Then i wouldn't have to see it.

I hate both either way so i guess i'm biased

Same reason Crush Card being the prize card was funking cancer. 8 players gaining a distinct advantage over everyone else in the game for a pre-determined amount of time is not healthy.

If Infinity was the prize card, it would be TCG legal, but only in the hands of the players who placed well in a tournament. Meaning they're probably rich and have the best cards already. And now they, and they alone, have one of the most powerful cards. While it means Infinity can't overtake the meta, the players WITH Infinity have an absurd advantage in being able to use it, and players without Infinity will probably never get one except for buying it from someone who has it for obscene amounts of money.

Translation - highly desired, powerful card being a prize card means almost no one can get it without tons and tons of money, and the only people likely to have it already HAVE tons and tons of money.

It's a reward for people who proved they didn't need it.
