Megaman Battle Network Series (or Star Force)

Yeah, FreezeMan is cool. In Battle Chip Challenge, he's the Navi of the antagonist of BN2, and like Quarter Guy and Green Scorpion said, most of the Navi's are based on the robot masters of the classic series, while some like BubbleMan, TopMan, PharaohMan, GravityMan, etc fail others held up pretty well, and even surpass their original counterparts.

Also, got a $20.00 Nintendo card. Gonna get me Red Sun and Blue Moon.

I can see why everyone likes FreezeMan. Makes me wish they continued dubbing the anime.

Yeah I have always hated how they stopped dubbing it. IMO stream through beast+ were probably the best of the series.

Btw is battle chip challenge on the VC?

I personally didn't like the dub largely due to the very questionable VA choices for the main characters. So I settled with subs, and had a good time with EXE and Beast.

Difficulty locating Axess and Stream, though. Axess subbing has only been half-done from what I've seen.

Stream has never been subbed up until now. About last year a group started fully subbing stream and as of right now 40 episodes are done. It'll probably be a few more months before stream is completely done though.

I actually finished Beast yesterday and will probably start beast+ eventually. Idk about axess as I watched that dubbed (give or take I watched a few of the jpn scenes and episodes as well)

Beat 1. Game was pretty short. Even with me durdling around for a few hours I still clocked in at under 20 hours. Not sure how much more I'll play since I have no idea how to get into area 14 and I'm TERRIBLE at fighting Sharkman and don't see myself getting his level 3 chip anytime soon and I need that to face Bass.

Regardless, had a fun time and will move on to 2 some time in the near future.

Nice to meet someone who shares my opinion on the matter.

And yes, Battle Chip Challenge is on the Wii U Virtual Console. I also have a physical copy. Had two files, one for Lan and one for Mary. Mary was my 100% complete chip library file.

Also, got Red Sun and Blue Moon today, and if you comm you get some Navi signature attack chips and Navi chips from both games.

Here's hoping Mega May will have both versions of BN5 and BN6.

BTW, if you have Wood Style and Area Grab, use it on MagnetMan and have Area Grab as a red border chip.

Dude I fel your pain. Took me a while to get his V3 chip as well.

Follow this guide and you'll be okay. BTW, you have his V2 Chip?

Well, I'm on the plane about to face MagnetMan, my second favorite Elec Navi. but first, gotta see if I missed any blue boxes.

Glad you liked it.

2 and 3 will be a greater experience when you measure them alongside 1, that I can assure you.

Its funny, having played the later games I can see all the stuff this is missing and having even the simple things get added is going to be nice.

Like, if memory serves from the later games, you auto get a notice that your about to cross the point of no return. That being an easily skippable NPC that comes before you even enter the final area here is honestly kind of really bad.

See, the problem is I don't really have the patience to hunt for the lv 3 version of all the navis. Like, getting the level 2 isn't that bad since they are in a set location, but them being random encounters for 3 is kind of frustrating. Like, I go Stoneman really early and never randomly found him despite running through area 3 a ton. For that reason I'm thinking of just calling it here and moving to 2 when I have some time.

I am happy though that just abusing the S lettered chips is a good strategy though since I was doing a smaller version of it while I played.

Ah the dreaded RNG.

Searching for V3 navis (or Beta in BN 3) can be annoying as f*** but fortunately they have some easier methods (Sneak run is a biggie) and particularly in BN 3 and beyond they have programs that make you attract certain virus attributes so that helps too.

Also speaking of Beta navis in BN 3 I know a couple have certain conditions, but do any of the NCPs tell you? I remembered a red navi saying that bubbleman (being the coward he is) only appeared in his beta form when you were at low HP.

I don't recall ever hearing of those from the NPCs. I ended up using a guide to figure out the more specific requirements.

Yea. I'm certain I did it for 4-6 (only know where 6 is and I have a bunch of the SP chips), but doing it now seems like a waste of time when I have millions of other things I want to do.

Edit: Found 5 and Double Team. Looks like I only did some of the SP chips in them. I also seems really bad at making folders to use. Also, in resisting, I REALLY liked Search and Magnet Souls. I was also half right when I said I didn't use Dark Souls. It didn't look like I did in the GBA game, but both games in the DS version had Dark Chips in the active folder. Though I might not have used them in the GBA game because I was just bad at using them.

Well, I managed to get CutMan and GateMan V2 and V3. Now I'm trying to get my S Class license.

Edit: Got it.

Battle numbers 5 and 10 were tough.

Ad: Remember kids, Area Grab is your best friend.

Don't mean to gloat but I got 5 ThunMan V3 chips.

One more thing, I switch to AquaTeam style, yet I don't have V2. Am I doing something wrong?

Update: Traded AquaTeam for the Anime showcase ElecTeam.

One more thing, did anyone think that Battle Chip Challenge was like a Battle Network 3.5? It utilizes the sprites and mugshots from the first three games.

AreaGrab really is probably one of the best chips, if only because you could completely panel lock the enemy (at least up til BN 4 where they made it so you can't steal the last column anymore.)

Panel Lock + Meteors is busted as hell. I never played BCC so I wouldn't know, however i heard it's on the VC so I might give it a go today.

I know. Helped me get a few good chips. Like MagnetMnV2 and V3.

And yes, it is on VC, six stories to choose from: Lan, Mayl, Dex, Chaud, and two newcomers Kai and Mary.

You know, something just hit me. For the random boss encounters on the VC, you can just make a save state so that you'd only need to find the boss twice when going for their level 2 and 3 chip. This realization makes that process seem a lot less daunting.

Of course, the restore points. That was how I got all three KnightMn chips and StoneBod, not to mention many V3 navi chips. It's also how I grind for Cash.

And if anyone is interested, I used Elec Team Style, but now I got two Guts Styles: Wood and Aqua.

No Heat elements, and no Shield or Custom styles.

I agree. First they don't allow us to have more than 4 chips now we can't panel lock. I guess they want us to play fair.

Speaking of VC, you ever noticed we get all the secret chips just by selecting Comm from BN2 onward?

Yep it's actually what made me want to replay through MMBN3 because now I dont have to trade for the bowlman/mistman chips anymore so getting the 5 stars to get the Omega Navis becomes much, much easier

Giga Chips are another story. I only got 2:

For Blue, I have BassGS and DeltaRay. For White, BassGS and Balance.

Red Sun I got: All the Secret Chips, RollAro, GutPunch, PropBom, SeekBom, Meteors, Lightning, HawkCut, NumbrBl, MetlGear, PanlShift, AquaUp, GreenWd, Z Saver, And the Protoman, NumberMan, MetalMan, JunkMan, AquaMan and WoodMan chips.

Blue Moon gives us The first few chips but different Navis, Roll, GutsMan, WindMan, SearchMn, FireMan, and ThunMan,

Hmm, wonder what for? It's not like we can get Red Sun Soul Unisons on Blue Moon and vice versa.

A little off topic, but I had remembered something.

I remember Pharaohman being one of the most OP navis (Supposed to be the ultimate navi) in the anime up until Mega got his first style change.

He appeared as a zoanoroid later and boy did he seem downgraded to hell, either that or Lan and the others just got OP. Even his Beast Out didn't really do much other than look kinda creepy. It seemed like a lot of navis either got downgraded or upgraded as Zoanoroids, Quickman being one of the few to outright just get buffed.

Lol@Starforce now being in the title.

Starforce 3's Noise forms were so bias, it was stupid.

All the noises...

I swear if you weren't being OP with your noise change then you were doing something wrong. Hell even Libra had some stupid things with it (consistent healing)

@Astro

SF Tribe has 21 episodes (Covers SF2)

OG Starforce has around 50 episodes.

They really messed up with Tribe idk what happened.

I see. Well I just completed BN2.

If you want, I can give you the lowdown on opponents for Battle Chip Challenge.

Speaking of, some of the opponents kinda don't add up.

What I mean is either most of the opponents died in early games so how could they come back?

As for opponents:

E class has for final opponents Ms. Mari, Dex and Mayl. However if you are either of the latter two, Dex faces off against Tamako from BN3 and, like the anime, Mayl will fight Madd from BN1.

D Class are elemental classes. Match has Mr. Match in his BN1, complete with FireMan, Sapling has Sal and WoodMan, Droplet has Doc Froid and IceMan, and Battery had Count Zap and ElecMan.

C Class is really challenging. First Quick. This is where things get iffy. The final opponent here is Dave. He didn't die so he must have reformed to compete. Next Block with Miyu and SkullMan. Now Cliff... Okay now things make no sense. The final opponent is Arashi and AirMan. I mean didnt Arashi die in BN2? If so how did he come back?

B class is elemental again. Fireworks: Mr. Match from BN2, HeatMan, Verdant had Ms. millions but the true final opponent is Anetta ande PlantMan, both reformed. Next is Stream with Masa and SharkMan. But One opponent Takeo Inukai and BeastMan. Again, like Arashi, he died. How did he come back? Finally, Thunder. Raoul and ThunderMan and Gauss and MagnetMan and from BN3, Rei Saiko and FlashMan.

A Class is East Meets West. For East, Sean, the main antagonist from BN2 is here. That's cool, but how does he get FreezeMan? West, Yahoot and MagicMan.

S Class has a few other faces like Princess Pride and KnightMan have recovered, Match is back with FlameMan, and Tora and KingMan.

X has Dark Miyabi and ShadowMan, along with Ribbita and ToadMan

Y has Mr. Famous and GateMan

Z has Bass.
