Gloom Diva the Monodious Choir

Dramatic Crossroad

Recommended Posts

Not as a counterpart as much as a spinoff of the name.

It's an WHAT IF? Monster (To be more specific: whay if Yuzu went in her own post-traumatic dark state of mind as Yuya, instead of going berserk to being all cold and emotionless.)

[spoiler=Inspiration]

Gloom = a state of depression or despondency / partial or total darkness.

Monody =  poem in which one person laments another's death

also Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir

PS. Sorry, but the art was taken from Arlownay and recolored/remixed by me.

Here is the new version, as requested by the community. I've placed each individual effect on a new row for easier differentiation.

Your opponent takes all Battle Damage you would have taken from battles involving this card.
Once per turn: you can Tribute 1 "Melodious" monster you control; place this card in your Pendulum Zone (if occupied, destroy the card currently placed in that Zone)
OR
have this card attack all monsters your opponent controls once each during each Battle Phase this turn, but other monster you control cannot attack.
Your opponent cannot select a "Melodious" monster you control as an attack target (except this card).

Indeed, the requirements appear to be more like Fusions (which Melodious are better known for doing) instead of Xyz.

That being said, the card is better suited as a regular Xyz, since it has no way of becoming a Pendulum Scale on its own in its effect.

You'll need to give it some sort of effect to place it in the Pendulum Zone.

Keep in mind Melodious only have Shopina/Francois to make this at the moment, unless Yuzu shows off more on Sunday.

In a way, this is a DARK counterpart to Bloom Diva, but also significantly harder to make at the moment for them.

Granted, it can attack all monsters at once, and force the opponent to take damage, but to be fair, Melodious can't run this.

Sure, you can run some DARK 7s in here, but that's not really ideal for them.

Fairy-wise, there's only 1 DARK Level 7, and that one doesn't really fit in the Deck.

Took some time to remake it, it's now slightly more in-tune (see what i did there) with the deck's fusion oriented play :)

Even though it now requires 3 materials it might be easier to summon than the Xyz one (i've kept it in the original post).

P.S. Kept this text,

"If you can Pendulum Summon Level 7, you can Pendulum Summon this face-up card in your Extra Deck."

because at this point we have only 1 Extra Deck Pendulum, and the rulings regarding that can be considered somewhat vague so i wanted to play it safe.

So I just started using Melodious, it has two very useful effects - its pendulum effect and its regular. The problem I have with this card is how would you ever summon it? I've found only a few times when I would be able to successfully get Bloom Dive out on the field and this card had an additional requirement. If you managed to pull this off and your opponent didn't have a response, you really should win but I just think it would be very difficult to play, none the less if this card was real I'd have to have it in my Melodious Extra Deck
