Getsuda is a winmoar speed card in a deck that is usually more focused on locking and stunning in order to force your opponent to use all of their resources before you.

 

Getsuda has a fantastic effect. Assuming it survives it grants you a free xyz every turn. Sure it's difficult to bring out, but once you do it can work wonders.

 

But is that really what ninjas do? No. The current ninjas focus on their transformation arts. Hanzo runs out of monster targets extrodinarily quickly, simply because there are very few ninjas you actually want to draw.

 

Getsuda, at this point in time, completely contradicts the current Ninja mindset and play style. Therefore it is an unesisary winmoar condition the deck doesn't need, and results in inconsistency.

 

BUT, do not forget that this is only the first round of stuff from 907. The rest of the Twilight Ninjas might be much more focused on fast play. Remember in the anime whatshisface was PURPOSELY trying to LOSE the match these were used in, but still tried to give his opponent a run for his money.

 

The new ninjas could be extraordinary and synergize perfectly with Getsuda. But current ninjas get no real benefit from going through the effort.
