goodfusion
A second /Assault Mode monster, this time of another of my favourites: Underground Arachnid. Underground Arachnid/Assault ModeLevel 8Insect-Type EARTHATK 2900 DEF 1700 effect:Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by "Assault Mode Activate", and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. If this card attacks or is attacked, your opponent cannot activate any Spell or Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. Once per turn, during either player's turn: If a monster effect is activated on the field or the Graveyard; you can negate the activation, and equip it to this card. If this card would leave the field by a card effect, you can destroy all cards equipped to this card instead. While this card is face-up: If a monster equipped to this card by this effect leaves the field, shuffle it into the Deck instead. When this card on the field is destroyed, you can Special Summon 1 "Underground Arachnid" from your Graveyard. A bit of explanation: ● Your opponent being unable to activate Spells/Traps if it is attacked as well as attacking allows you to activate Mirror Force and prevent your opponent from responding with a Spell/Trap, or activating something like Shrink in the Damage/Battle step.● Equipping a monster by negating its effects allows Assault Mode Activate to be used reactively, chaining it to a card like Foolish Burial or Call of the Haunted and summoning this card to negate that monster's effect (I am pretty sure if you chained it directly to the monster's effect, you would not be able to negate it). However, being unable to just target a monster and equip it means you have to think tactically about when to summon it.● Being able to equip any number of monsters to it is cool.● The protection effect now protects it against any effect that would remove it from the field instead of protecting it from battle. 2900 ATK is enough to protect it against all weaker monsters so battle destruction prevention is likely to be unnecessary.● Shuffling an equipped monster into the deck if it leaves the field allows equipping a monster to be used as an effective form of removal, avoiding graveyard effects. However, it will not activate if Underground Arachnid/Assault Mode is destroyed by battle or if it would be Book of Mooned. Overall, I like this card, but I feel it may need changing slightly because it feels very similar to Cyber Dragon Infinity, and depending on your viewpoint this card could be even more overpowered than it.However, if you keep in mind that it is not a generic card (any Rank 4 deck can summon CDI using Tellarknight Ptolmaeus to get Nova) and the potential for dead draws that using a /Assault Mode deck gives, I feel it is pretty balanced. The Highlander
Was there not already a topic on this exact same card, if you however still want a feedback I can give you your feedback.First of all this card is reactive in a surpressing way, however not in a way that it tries to completly prevent a player from playing (like infinity and quasar try), so it has that going for it.The fact that the equipped monsters do go into the deck rather than the graveyard is indeed strong, however only having one shield at a time is not too much for an assault mode monster, considering how much dedication they require. The ancient gear effect is already on the original one and was in no way the selling point of the card, but rather an additional bonus, so it is obviously alright on this card (also considering that assault mode usually have stronger versions of their former effects).Considering he amount of non-destruction removal we have currently one would likely only get the revival via battle, so that is also restricted. On a side note, it may be just me, but it would seem more realistic if the removal protection would make it unaffected by that effect, rather than just preventing the removal of the card. All in all the card seems alright, especially considering the huge efforts it takes to bring out even one of these (already while creating the deck). goodfusion
I expect you are thinking about the Dark Diviner/Assault Mode, that I posted last month. Also, I gave you a like anyway because you posted a good review, so heh. :-P
The Highlander
I expect you are thinking about the Dark Diviner/Assault Mode, that I posted last month. Also, I gave you a like anyway because you posted a good review, so heh. :-POh well, what about a general support card for assault decks next, so that they can be less gimmicky ? (perhaps more searching power and/or a spell sustitute for assault mode activate) Or a few other ideas for interesting assault modes, it would great to see equally good written versions to underground arachnid and diviner:1.) Odin, Thor and/or Loki2.) Red Dragon Archfiend Scar-right/ Hot Red Dragon Archfiend3.) Stardust Spark Dragon (he might get a bit of targeting protection or a kind of the manga effect)4.) Accel Synchro monsters5.) XX-Saber Gottoms6.) one of the Scrap Bosses( 7.) Assault Mode Trishula )8.) one of the PSYFrame Lords (as that deck might have good use for an assault mode monster)9.) The regular Genex synchros10.) Dark Flattop11.) Clear Wing Synchro Dragon12.) Daigusto Sphreez13.) Junk Warrior14.) Accel Synchron (with a "treated as a synchro" clause and effects to support accel and delta accel synchros)
