Blake
Hands down my favorite of the Mages, and I think the design is just wonderful. It supports the deck brilliantly, while not doing too much (on release) for it. Sadly, this card is a bit too good when associated with Pendulums, mostly due to Wavering Eyes existing. It makes the Performage Engine the superior variant of Pendulum Decks, as they have a built-in out to the most powerful anti/pro pendulum support, in addition to their OWN copies of Wavering Eyes. 玄魔の王
Flame Mascot is the real problem in that arrangement. There's specuation they made it so broken on purpose to get Shock Master and other Shueisha-controlled promos list attention. This thing is fairly balanced by itself. Toffee.
Pretty much why this card is useful is that it's a Kuriboh/Life Force Harmonizer/etc, except it has an ideal Level, and actually does something outside of that 'Discard to block [x]' gimmick. ihop
You get so much value out of it in both Nekroz and Shaddoll. In Nekroz it gets you to the very important Hatricker as well as providing insurance if your opponent has heavily commited into making your Valk fizzle (I think Gungnir is going to fall out of use completely now) and being a +0 to Cycle back a Unicore. Its uses in Shaddoll are obvious. something something flame mascot something 2016 problems something
CLG Klavier
Also it negates Wavering Eyes. That's one funny thing, though not sure how often that would come up in TCG. Against Qli I guess? Granted Towers Turbo is still a thing.

You run 6 outs to wavering (3 Damage Juggler, 3 Eyes) to your opponent's 3 Wavering, which means you have a much better chance of coming out on top, unless they, too, run both. Maeriberii Haan
In Nekroz it gives you an edge from your opponent by giving you an actual way to dodge Gungnir-fueled OTK attempt or just extending your normal safe LP zone AND giving you ample fuel for a comeback in the following turn. And with each passing day people find a new use to this card.
