VampireofDarkness
Ascended Priest of the Dragon QueenMonster Effect:When this card is Normal or Pendulum Summoned, you can send 1 Dragon-Type Ritual Monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. You can banish this card from your hand or that you control; Tribute monsters from your hand or that you control whose total Levels exactly equal 6, then Ritual Summon 1 "Saffira, Queen of Dragons" from your hand or Graveyard. You must control no Ritual Monsters to activate and resolve this effect, and cannot summon other Ritual Monsters during the turn you activate this effect. You can only use each effect of "Ascended Priest of the Dragon Queen" once per turn. Pendulum Effect:You can banish this card and send 1 "Hymn of Light" from your hand or Deck to the Graveyard; Tribute monsters from your hand or that you control whose total Levels exactly equal 6, then Ritual Summon 1 "Saffira, Queen of Dragons" from your hand or Deck. You must control no Ritual Monsters to activate and resolve this effect, and cannot summon other Ritual Monsters during the turn you activate this effect. You can only use this effect of "Ascended Priest of the Dragon Queen" once per turn. Guardian of the Dragon QueenMonster Effect:If you Ritual Summon "Saffira, Queen of Dragons" with an effect that requires use of monsters, you can use this card as the entire requirement. When this card is Normal or Pendulum Summoned, you can add 1 "Dragon Queen" or "Queen of Dragons" monster from your Deck to your hand. Pendulum Effect:When a "Dragon Queen"" or LIGHT Dragon-Type monster you control would be targeted by a card effect, you can banish 1 "Dragon Queen" card in your Extra Deck or that you control; negate that effect. You can only use this effect of "Guardian of the Dragon Queen" once per turn. For my second daily outing, I decided to expand on an idea I had in a 1v1. The challenge of the contest was to make Saffira support, and thus I made Priest. I had the intention of turning the card I made into a whole archetype, and while I have yet to finish this, I did decide to work on another Pendulum, with the intention of protecting of Saffira. I decided to not have it trigger Saffira, and instead focus on other possible synergy, such as Light of Redemption and Miraculous Rebirth to give a more interesting aspect to said Deck. You could probably also use Hieratics since they trigger off of any Tribute method, but I'll leave that all to feedback As always, CnC is appreciated. Flash Flyer - Sakura
Since I was the one who gave you this requirement for Leaderboard, it's only fair that I comment on it properly. ------Ascended gets Hymn of Light set up for Sapphy to use for protection in the case, and avoids needing to have materials in hand or the Ritual in question. That, and it gets her into the Graveyard to be R-Summoned, very similar to that of Illusion (for Nekroz), or revival if she somehow gets killed past Hymn's banishing protection. You can also use this for other Dragon Rituals (well, the mill effect), but since it specifically states Sapphy in its text for Ritual Summoning, not much point in using it for other things. The no other Ritual requirement shouldn't bother you too much though. I appreciate the fact that Guardian is a Ritual Raven for Sapphy, and a searcher for either her or both of the supports here.Same with being another layer of anti-Castel and targeting; it forces you to banish these two cards though, but since Guardian searches, you shouldn't have too much problem. Plus, there are ways to recover them, so it's not a total loss, indeed. Like you mentioned though, Hieratics can certainly use these two cards alongside Sapphy (tbh, that's pretty much how I've been using her lately anyway). In addition to filling her Ritual requirement, they can most certainly use the protection effect to keep themselves from being hit. ----So yeah, I do like both of them. Both of them provide ample protection and facilitate Sapphy's summoning, which is always helpful. Also looking forward to the other cards geared for her. [Yeah, I've used the term "Sapphy" in here instead of her proper name, but it means the same thing]
VampireofDarkness
Since I was the one who gave you this requirement for Leaderboard, it's only fair that I comment on it properly. Why thank you! Ascended gets Hymn of Light set up for Sapphy to use for protection in the case, and avoids needing to have materials in hand or the Ritual in question. That, and it gets her into the Graveyard to be R-Summoned, very similar to that of Illusion (for Nekroz), or revival if she somehow gets killed past Hymn's banishing protection.Fun Fact: It also leaves open for late game. If say you run out of Hymns or all your Saffiras are in the Grave, you just play this and you can get back stuff. I probably will keep this in mind as I make further support You can also use this for other Dragon Rituals (well, the mill effect), but since it specifically states Sapphy in its text for Ritual Summoning, not much point in using it for other things.Technically you can use it with Odd-Eyes Advent actually, which tbh is gimmicky but I see some sort of Deck revolving around it, maybe an EM&EM variant with Lord of the Red? The question then boils down to how useful of a scale is it The no other Ritual requirement shouldn't bother you too much though.Yeah, I basically put that to say "No Herald/Saffira For You" I appreciate the fact that Guardian is a Ritual Raven for Sapphy, and a searcher for either her or both of the supports here.Same with being another layer of anti-Castel and targeting; it forces you to banish these two cards though, but since Guardian searches, you shouldn't have too much problem. Plus, there are ways to recover them, so it's not a total loss, indeed.Pretty much. I'm working on a way to make it not as required to be using stuff like Miraculous and Redemption since I'm not sure that would be in the favor of Decks like Hieratics that make use of this, (Which will probably be the main method until I give a bigger monster lineup) but the Ritual Raven + Protection if Saffira already is out is solid indeed. Like you mentioned though, Hieratics can certainly use these two cards alongside Sapphy (tbh, that's pretty much how I've been using her lately anyway). In addition to filling her Ritual requirement, they can most certainly use the protection effect to keep themselves from being hit.Atum protection from Breakthrough ftw, but yeah I think that would be your main way of running it until a more grounded monster lineup comes in hand. I probably will work on that, or at least a Spell/Trap lineup to make it all functional So yeah, I do like both of them. Both of them provide ample protection and facilitate Sapphy's summoning, which is always helpful. Also looking forward to the other cards geared for her. [Yeah, I've used the term "Sapphy" in here instead of her proper name, but it means the same thing]Thank you! Probably will be working on that as I test this Deck idea on Duel Portal. Probably will have the rest of the cards dropped by Sunday, but there will be an indirect support and an archetypal Field Spell dropped today and Friday respectively so I'll see how those go. (I have these dailies planned for the whole week lol)
