Darj
Shaddoll DoppelTrap CardType: ContinuousActivate this card by targeting 1 monster your opponent controls or in their Graveyard; Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Spellcaster-Type/DARK) with a Level, ATK and DEF equal to the Level/Rank, ATK and DEF of that target. (This card is also still a Trap Card.). This card's Attribute is also the same as that target's. If this card is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect: You can target 1 "Shaddoll" Spell /Trap Card in your Graveyard, except "Shaddoll Doppel"; add it to your hand. This is intended to be a flavor card that represents a Shaddoll taking the form of another monster, dead or alive. Of course, not only it's for the flavor, but also provides Shaddolls a way of running over big monsters, especially now that Construct is gone, by copying them and crashing into them, or copying bigger ones. Another application is copying a monster with the desired Attribute for a Fusion Summon. In addition, it's retrievable by the El Shaddolls as well, for the cases you need a beater more than a Shaddoll Fusion Spell or Core. As for the picture... I know it's not exactly a puppet like the main Deck Shaddolls, but it's the closest I could find resembling a dark-themed puppet. Besides, in a way it resembles the puppet forms of Winda and Wen, so I guess it's not fully off-theme. Moreover, the pseudo-censorship on its eyes works to its advantage, as it could be seen as the doll having no identity, but instead taking it from the monster it is copying. Thoughts? Alastar Rainford
Target 1 monster your opponent controls or in their Graveyard; Special Summon this card as an Normal Monster (Spellcaster-Type) with the same , Attribute, Level, ATK, and DEF as that target (This card is also still a Trap Card). If this card is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect: You can target 1 "Shaddoll" Spell /Trap Card in your Graveyard, except "Shaddoll Doppel"; add it to your hand. Better ocg. Onto the card itself,it is basically a better wall than core, but your fusion is dependent on your opponent playing a good attribute.
Darj
Uh, your OCG doesn't exactly work for my purposes since I want the monster to retain its DARK Attribute while gaining the copied monster's, also it makes it a Normal Monster for some reason. As for the "activate this card by targeting" clause, I copied it from Call of the Haunted, Oasis of Dragon Souls, etc., so I figured it would be more accurate. Toffee.
So more or less, this is just Roots, but with the option of being able to fight back instead of just acting as a wall(aside from being fodder), though, it has a more specific Attribute and it's Level can wind up being anything. Seems a little weird to compete with something, when there is only like 1-2 actual differences. You could, though, be cool and have it recover Shaddoll monsters instead of Spell/Traps. Would make it more of a thing, really.
Darj
I like that idea, but I feel that recovering Shaddoll monsters instead of Spell/Traps would conflict with the flavor of the archetype, considering Core/Roots recovers Spell/Traps. Then again, it's not like there is a pattern since the only Shaddoll Trap as reference is Core; I suppose I can get away with making this card recover monsters.
