Pretty much what Giga said. Even though GKs are pretty shite, this card operates like a pseudo floodgate when your opponent doesn't control any monsters, since all they gotta do is set a Spy then play this under Necro to possibly strip you of 1-5 monsters. It won't always be damaging, just potentially. Pendulum decks would be hurt a fair bit by this, due to their typical preference of being very monster heavy. I would suppose that since GK are weak moving this to 2 or 3 will not make much difference. But said difference WILL be felt, that is pretty much guaranteed.

(Plus I'm sure Saikyo will moan about how this card kills Superheavies etc etc.)

Actually stopped giving a sheet about Yugioh meta, and really stopped caring if it affects SuperHeavy Samuaris. I almost gave up on Superheavies in general, now realizing that no matter how much I like the cards, there is not one thing that can be done to help them in a funking game where one summon can funking search your entire funking deck, banishing is now a staple, not an exception, and how much people don't care if you're good, just how good the autopilot is on your deck.

But since you said it, I have to rise to the occasion.

Yeah, this can hurt SuperHeavies, since your entire deck is monsters and you'll lose your entire hand and you'll have to rely on top decking. at the same time, it can load up my graveyard traps, etc, but that doesn't matter because Nercovalley will be on the field.

Punches time clock and goes to doing important things, like trying not to starve.

This seems like a card that is way too unreliable at 1. You really need to use it early game to get the right impact to be most successful, and running 3 would be done for the sake of getting it as early as possible rather than to use it more times.

Even then it is a gamble since each deck will be affected differently. Pendulums aren't actually hurt that badly. Yes the monsters caught in the hand will be less recyclable, but at the same time their mechanic gets them down to the field faster and more effectively and their being stored in the Extra Deck is what really drives them. It is just a strategy affected in a different way altogether.

It really depends on the format. Gravekeepers didn't just shine during their time because of lower powercreep, but Graveyards were more indispensable back in the day for many decks so Necrovalley was more legit. Pendulums don't care about Graveyards and we don't have the new Monarchs yet. What can it really do in a deck that no longer has the average stats or speed required to compete?

It's still very unpleasant to fall for it when it does hit jackpot, but I can understand the reasoning behind wanting this upped in the list. If something is irrelevant regardless of list position, it is always the better choice to just release it. Yes casuals don't need to care about list, but many still follow it as a guideline for balance even when using casual strategies, and although competitive is the main juice of the game, it is nice to give those little nods of "we remember you exist" rather than "do whatever the f**k you want in that corner, the adults are busy here". Sure agreements can be done when disregarding a certain card's position, but it is kind of a pain.
