Tinkerer
Hello, fine peoples! Storytime! I was walking down the street yesterday. Someone shouted to me and when I turned and waved, said something that I couldn't make out. Being in a rush, and flustered by this unexpected shout-out, the very first thing that came out of my mouth was "Thank you!" Now, I dunno if I'm alone in this, but when I get flustered, I tend to say certain phrases in compensation before regaining composure. My particular ones are:"Thank you/Thanks""No problem""[it's] kinda like""...sorta" So do the fine folks of YCM have their own go-to phrases? Or is this just Tinkerer Bartholomew Melon chasing his own tail again?
Fusion X. Denver
I don't have go-to phrases, but I've made that mishap countless times where I say something else in a rush. Can't imagine it's made a good impression on people I'm acquainted with, but what can you do.

ihop
"Alright" is my response to literally everyone upon seeing them. Like, I'm pretty sure if I met the Queen or someone I'd still say "alright".
Sethera
"Know what I mean?" I often say this, just to make sure people are on the same page with me. In real life, I tend to leap between topics like lightning, and can often get engrossed with certain subjects, which other people might not know about as well. Still, it's gotten to be a bit of a verbal tic now.

~ P O L A R I S ~
It's happened to me on a few occasions where I'd be reading something and reply "nice, nice" to something awful someone'd tell me before being brought to my senses with a "NO IT'S NOT NICE IT'S AWFUL". It's nice to see most of our absent-minded replies are positive in general!
