Darj
Overwhelming AuraTrap CardType: ContinuousFace-up monsters on the field are unaffected by the effects of any monster in the controller's opponent possession that is face-up on the field or Graveyard, or is banished face-up, and whose ATK is lower than their current ATK. The effect was inspired from Blackship of Corn, but inverse: instead of only being able to harm weaker monsters, monsters are unaffected by the effects of weaker monsters. I like to consider this card a reverse floodgate of sorts, in that rather than preventing or stopping the players from using monster effects, this makes their targets unaffected by those effects instead. Tip: since the effect is continuous, you can chain this card in response to a monster effect and successfully protect your bigger monsters. Flavorwise, the card gives monsters an aura that intimidates the weaker monsters, scaring them from effectively using their effects on them. Thoughts? Flash Flyer - Sakura
Given how much Castel (and I guess 101, to some extent) shows up in this game, this card is useful for blocking any bounce attempts or whatever else.Though you can't do it to the opponent either, so in those cases, either you'll have to pump yours over them or use S/T removal (which also exists). On the flip side, it does make certain monsters even more of a pain to get rid of, but there's still stuff like Raigeki and the like to deal with them.Although, I think some of those monsters would already be immune to the above cards anyway, even without the protection from this card. So, in a way, it encourages more high ATK fields (which some Decks specialize in pretty well), but it does have its uses for dealing with removal from those two among other things (I likely missed certain cards that are relevant right now, but they're included in here otherwise). Pretty sure there's a few Decks that can put this card to good use; probably Trains or something.
