Appocalypse Dragon

Rank 10 | LIGHT | Dragon | XYZ | Effect

3800/2800

3 Level 10 Monsters. This card can also be Special summoned by tributing 3 Face-up LIGHT Dragon-Type Xyz monsters you control (they must have 0 Xyz Materials). You can only control 1 "Apocalypse Dragon". You can only use each effect of "Apocalypse Dragon" once per turn.

(1) When an effect of a non-LIGHT monster is activated; Negate that effect, and if you do, shuffle that monster into the Deck.

(2) You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 Level 8 LIGHT Dragon-Type monster and 1 Level 7 DARK Dragon-Type monster from your Deck in Attack Position, but their ATK and DEF become 0.

Uh yeah, the Tributing part of the effect destroys the point of this being an Xyz Monster.

Then again, it's also a valid Astral Force target for a few Rank 8 Dragons, common ones being Number 38, 107, Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis/Ennead and so forth. I also seem to recall someone mentioning that Trains can go into C9 without having to go through the Rank-Ups, so they can certainly go into this also. For that matter, any Deck that can afford to summon a Rank 8 easily and carry AF can go into this, and it's effectively game. (Well, you still have LIGHT monsters to run it over, in addition to backrow)

Although...it also affects how YOU play as well, so suppose there is some downside to this (if you have no non-LIGHTs, then the drawback is moot).

As much as I'd like to say Chaos Dragons MIGHT like this, especially with the new supports and stuff, I doubt it'll work out for them. (Well, maybe with that alternative summon condition)

While we're on that condition, any Dragon deck that can SS 3 at once (even small ones) just got access to a massive 4400 beater that negates stuff.

-----

For starters, lower its ATK to 4000 and get rid of the alternative summon condition. If Decks want to bring this out, they have to make it properly.

Can I change to 3 Xyz Dragon-Type monsters then? Would that make it better in any way, shape or form?
