Depth looks a bit forced and not as even as it should be. Likely due to the insufficient and too much lighting in spots. And you can in fact do lighting without a flare. 

... monochrome nature seems a bit hastily done instead of well thought out. I feel as though the motions should have gone along with her hair instead of slightly above and straight on till morning.

Dip of color at the top doesn't appear to extend to the left for an even balance.

 

And please explain that foreground line and how it's supposed to aid the image for me.
