if you go first open garden + jasmine + tuner, you can go jasmine -> +500 -> draw a card summon tuner from hand synchro goyo defender -> x3 goyo defender -> meliae -> bring back jasmine -> tuner comes back -> synchro for herald of arc light, effectively you maintain the jasmine and the field spell, but the difference is that jasmine is now in DEF mode, you drew a card, and the tuner turned into meliae and arc light.

Honestly, this doesn't make the deck function better, it's just a higher power ceiling. And that's what disappoints me.

 

This isn't like Shiranui Sage, who singlehandedly gave value to a decktype... This is just a good support with a ton of xenophobia.

 

You can't build around it, it doesn't fix the deck, and it just gives you some decent power plays.

If you have a Level 4 in hand as well you could potentially go in harder:

> Ditch Spore > Banish Jas, res spore > Leviair > Grab Jas > Res Tuner > Tatsunoko > Power Tool > Search D.D.R. > Grab Tuner > Crystal Wing.

 

Not very optimal but definitely very silly.  There are probably other stupid combos like this now that Defender is a viable option.
