[spoiler Card Text]

2 Level 5 monsters
● While in Attack Position: This card's original ATK becomes 2800 and its original DEF becomes 0. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; change this card to Defense Position.
● While in Defense Position: Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by card effects. At the end of the Damage Step, if an opponent's monster that battled this card was not destroyed: Halve that monster's ATK.

[spoiler JP Card Text]

Same card from that 1v1 some time ago, this time with its base DEF dropped to 2800 instead of the original 3000. that, and I have learnt how to shot web manipulating Zextra's template.

Seems like a decent straightforward level 5 xyz, not too effective but can be usable if matched with the right deck perhaps, in attack position it can hold its own with that high atk, and can be more effective in warrior decks that can increase its atk further. Seems more effective as a defense monster though cause it has high defense and can survive longer with the once turn destruction resistance. But is that last effect only while it is in defense position? If so don't think opponent would be dumb enough to attack it and have thier monster weakened, they would rather find other ways to remove this card, which that limitation actually helps this card

The anti-destruction effect only applies while in Defense Position, supplemented by Aegislash's ability to retreat to that position at nearly any point in the turn to escape destruction. The ATK-cutting effect is an adaptation of King's Shield, and gives the opponent a reason not to attack it head-on even with a monster with greater ATK, sparing Aegislash from unnecessary battles. And even if Aegislash gets busted by an attack while in Defense Position, the ATK drop still applies, leaving the culprit vulnerable to a counterattack.

If an opponent is forced to spend excess resources to work around the threat, it's still a victory in a sense.

Seems like an Artifact card to me. In any case, the R5 material pool isn't huge, so making it generic isn't a problem. It is basically a slightly weaker (stat wise) Diamond Crab King, that can more easily switch between its stats and positions. Considering the previous is a R4, this card gets away with those buffs. I said basically, but rereading this card there is so much more to it. The change in battle position can apply even during battle, or in response to a Raigeki or something, making it extremely useful, and forcing your opponent to think cleverly around it rather than just "beat over that castel". I really wish Yu-Gi-Oh had more cards like these.

lol japanese text what a weeb

Flavorwise, it's definitely Aegislash. I guess it's okay as far as Rank Fives go, but I feel like having an Aegislash with just King's Shield might be kind of bland. It probably has some use, though, since you could give it, I dunno, Mist Body (or probably something a bit less gimmicky) to keep him alive for that battle, and then he'll guarantee you'll get over big monsters next turn. Since it's a quick effect, he can also chain it to Raigeki/Dark Hole and protect himself, which seems a bit strange, since King's Shield doesn't protect the user from Status moves, so it's almost contradictory.

Despite this, I think other Xyz monsters may be preferable for their Effect Removal rather than their battle removal.
