So like, some bloke gathered up all the themes so I might as well use that and make a poll.

Vote on your favorite Pursuit variation from Ace Attorney!

And yes I know, they're all pretty damn good, but there can only be one that reigns as Debeste. And feel free to comment on each one too if you're hardcore enough. Understandably some may prefer not to listen to the ones from the games they haven't played, and while that may not be fair, it's totally fine. Sometimes it's context that elevates a track to god tier and that's fine too. And of course if you haven't played the games and you're just here to listen to some cool tunes, that's great as well. Might get you into the games even.

I'm bored and I dare say I'm a little hardcore soooooooooooo

muh hot opinions:

Ace Attorney version - It's a classic. Sounds pretty standard. Or rather it is the standard. I use this one as the metric to compare all other Pursuit themes with. It's pretty catchy and that's really all I have to say.

Justice for All - I want to like this one but it's a step below the original. I pretty much remember this only for Case 4, and the tenser version(Hotline of Fate iirc) is better.

Trials and Tribulations(Caught) - Now this one I really like. Up to this point it's my favorite of the three. The very start is a bit weak but it leads into that hopeful-sounding tune. The piece really feels like it's Phoenix's theme, although it does feel a little less 'sheet got real' than the first two.

T&T Cornered 2004 remix - sounds a whole lot like the original. It's a very slight upgrade and is very slightly better than the first but they're pretty much the same. My opinion on the first one applies to this one too.

Apollo Justice - Has a strong, impactful start but the hype sorta diminishes as the song goes on. Weakest of them all up to this point. AJ's other tracks are better.

Investigations - This one's pretty solid. The piano gives it a less Phoenix-light feel which is perfect for Edgeworth. It's a little below T&T's version for me.

Investigations 2 - But THIS one is probably my favorite of the lot and is what got me to making this thread. This one's not just solid, it's absolutely hype. Especially after playing Case 4. The variation made me jump off my chair, figuratively speaking.

Layton crossover(England) - Haven't played the game so I have no context behind it but it feels like a weaker orchestral arrange of the first Pursuit. I suppose it's setting-appropriate but I'm not feeling it.

Layton crossover(the other one) - This one's stronger than the England one but on the other hand this one feels a bit too messy.

Dual Destinies - The trumpets are really exciting and the beats are solid. Haven't played DD so I don't really have the context for it either, beyond the first case demo which was nice but I don't remember much of it. Maybe it sounds a bit too victorious but it might work pretty well in-game so I can't really comment on that. Below T&T but maybe a bit better than Investigations'.

Ye olde weird Apollo spinoff version - Now this is an orchestral version done right. Strong start, sounds solid, if only I played this game I'd be even more excited but as is, it still ranks pretty high for me.

Spirit of Justice - The intro part is funking AMAZING pretty nice. The rest of the song kinda falls below DD's version though, imo.

I think "victorious" is a really good way to describe DD's Pursuit theme, but having played it I can tell you it does work well in-game, with how serious and desperate things get at times, you want that victory. Especially with how crazy the final case gets, considering it's probably one of the main reasons the game is rated M. It also goes well with having multiple attorneys going at it, since there are 3 playable characters.

While Cornered and Lying Coldly are both very good, in my eyes, Caught is easily the best.

It gives you the same satisfaction the others do, but there's something about it that's off. And as you play T&T, you realize... It's sorrow.

Fitting the theme of the game, its pursuit theme lets you have your win, but not without making you understand the weight of the cases, understanding the deep hurt, even with the Masque case.

I feel like it's NOT Phoenix' theme, but Mia's, fitting for... Yknow.

I've never viewed Caught that way before. Now I'm starting to hear sorrow alongside the hopefulness.

As for Mia's theme, I honestly always thought Objection 2004 fitted her better, since that's the first impressionable piece I heard in the 3rd game, and it first shows up in Case 1 with her. Although as I understand it returns in DD as Phoenix's theme, and I do get why Caught fits her.
