Effect copying in purrfect form, Neko-Mimicry Archtype

Recommended Posts

Please don't kill me for that pun.

I'm mostly posting this to make sure I didn't miss any OP loopholes in the ace monster's effect. This set may belong in experimental, I'm not sure.

If this card is summoned: you can add 1 "Neko-Mimicry" card from your deck to your hand, except "Neko-Mimicry Traveler". You can only use the effect of "Neko-Mimicry Traveler" once per turn. When using this card on the field as Synchro Material, reduce this card's Level by 3.

If you have an "Neko-Mimicry" card in your other pendulum zone: you can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Neko-Mimicry Inspiration" once per turn.

---

All monsters you control gain 600 ATK during your Battle Phase only.

Once per turn, if you have a "Neko-Mimicry" card in your other pendulum zone: you can discard 1 card, then target 1 face-up monster on the field; destroy that target.

---

If this card attacks an opponent's monster, it gains 800 ATK during the Damage Step only. When this card destroys a monster by battle: You can destroy 1 card your opponent controls.

Rulings notes:

"When this card destroys a monster by battle: You can destroy 1 card your opponent controls." doesn't target (similar to odd-eyes saber dragon)

Once, while this card is in your Pendulum Zone, you can negate an activated card effect that targets another "Neko-Mimicry" card(s) you control, then destroy this card.

---

If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can target 1 of your banished "Neko-Mimicry" monsters; Special Summon that target.

updates:

* lowered ATK to 1500 for odd-eyes pendulum dragon synergy

The ace of the deck:

During your End Phase: You can destroy this card, and if you do, add 1 "Neko-Mimcry" Monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Neko-Mimicry Paladin".

---

During your turn, while this card is in your possesion and not in the main or extra deck or spell & trap zone: you can banish 1 other "Neko-Mimicry" card from your hand, graveyard, or extra deck; banish 1 non "Neko-Mimicry" monster you control or in either graveyard and if you do, declare 1 level 10 or lower effect monster name, except a main deck monster that cannot be normal summoned/set, with the same type and attribute as the banished monster. Until the End Phase, this card remains revealed, gains that monster's effects and name and keeps them unless it is placed in the main deck (This is a quick effect). You can only use this effect of "Neko-Mimicry Paladin" once per turn.

Rulings notes:

[spoiler=read]

*The copying effect is a quick effect, but can only be activated on your turn.

*Declaring the card is done when the effect resolves, so engraver of the mark can't change what card you choose.

*Activating "Neko-Mimicry Paladin's copy effect from your hand reveals it, and it says revealed if the effect resolves to the "and if you do, until the End Phase" part.

* You can declare "Neko-Mimicry Paladin" for the effect, however you wont be able to use the copy effect again that turn.

* You can declare a synchro or fusion monster, but not a ritual or xyz monster.

* Because the effects persist until the end of the turn unless "Neko-Mimicry Paladin" goes to the main deck, if you the effect of Vortex Trooper or EarthboundImmortal Ascila Piscu (sp?), you can still use their effects that activate after they leave the field assuming "Neko-Mimicry Paladin" isn't placed in the main deck.

* You can activate the effect to gain an effect while Neko-Mimicry Paladin is in the graveyard, such as treeborn frog, cyber dragon core, or Darklord Superbia, and all of those effects will work normally until the end of the turn. You can activate the effect to gain the effect of maxx "c" or d.d. crow, and then activate the gained effect by discarding Neko-Mimicry Paladin.

* If you gain the effect of "maxx c" (for example) and you've already activated maxx c that turn, you cannot activate the gained effect. Similarly, you cannot gain the effect of maxx c, activate the gained effect, then activate an actual maxx c that same turn.

*Similarly, you cannot activate the effect of a card that states "once per duel" a 2nd time between that card and "Neko-Mimicry Paladin".

*You cannot declare a banned card such as YataGarasu, unless you want to be disqualified (or whatever they do if they catch you using banned cards in a tornament) that is.

* After using the copying effect, Neko-mimicry Paladin's name is treated as both as "Neko-Mimicry Paladin" and the declared name

updates:

* Added a clause that Neko-Mimicry Paladin is also treated as the declared monster's name to avoid an infinite loop with the wicked avatar.

Neko-Mimicry%20Spell%20Tome_zpscdvbdng9.

If you control a "Neko-Mimicry" card: Target 1 card on the field; destroy that target.
