Nightmare Hand

Level 4 - DARK - Fiend-type Monster

When this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (by battle or card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: You can make your opponent send 1 random monster from their Extra Deck to the Graveyard, then you can Special Summon 1 "Hand" monster from your Deck.

ATK 1800/DEF 1200

So, I've been thinking:

Maybe I should specify that Nightmare Hand has to SS a "Hand" monster from your Deck, so that this card isn't abused in Frogs. Or, y'know, Flamvells. (LOL)

Also, chances are, I'll make a 'Hand' Xyz monster as well, since BOBE is a monster, Xyz, and Spell-oriented card pack. (current progress: 12 cards finished out of 30[?] )

Not sure what to comment about the card usabilty to follow the advance clause since i havent seen the custom support

But, cards in the extra deck cannot be targeted, and its pointless to do so if it was possible, since the selection is at random.

the correct OCG would be: When this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (by battle or card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: You can make your opponent send 1 random monster from their Extra Deck to the Graveyard, then you can Special Summon 1 Pyro or Aqua-type monster from your Deck.

(the "to the field" part is also unnecessary since cards are only summoned there anyways)

Thanks for the OCG edit, Juano, and there isn't really any custom support for 'Hands' that I have, besides this card and perhaps one last card. Though it could hardly be called "Hand" support, though I might later ask for this to be moved to the "Advanced Multiples" if having 2 cards of the same Archetype posted is too much for this board.

That aside, do you have any other qualms with the card? Any ways to improve it?

Also, bump!

I feel like my qualms with this are a bit simple. It destroys 20% of the opponent's Extra Deck on it's own at no cost. While non-destruction forms of removal exist, to have to use it on a card such as this is a bit aggravating. It's actually quite powerful for having such a strong effect, and just costs a normal summon/set. I feel you could tech this into Monarchs and it'd be a decent choice as a secondary engine since it floats, allowing it to provide tribute fodder for them without clogging up your deck. I mean considering Gale Dogra requires 3000 LP to send a monster from your own Extra Deck to the Graveyard I think it'd be at least a decent thing to do to give this a cost.

I'd figure a dismembered shadowy hand or spectral hand would be a Nightmare Hand.

It's got a neat effect that interferes with your opponent's Extra Deck, and while that may sound harsh, it's not like they'd miss it. Plus, this card would see more use in a Hand or Hand Artifact Traptrix Deck anyways.

Um...no.

That would mean you'd have to give up Main Deck space for this card. Space that could be used for hand traps, Spell/Trap Cards you would typically use, or remove monsters that could have seen more use than this, or just better cards in general.

And Normal Summoning/Setting is vital. Using it on this card is a gamble.

And no; Monarchs would not want this card.

Leafbladie, while your points are, well, on point, what you're banking on is incredibly flawed logic.

Like Nyx said, it's extremely illogical that a Monarchs player would run a slow (incredibly so) engine like the "Hand" engine, when they could be playing things like "March of the Monarchs" or "Caius the Shadow Monarch" instead.

I appreciate the concern, though.

Any ideas on how to improve this card, or do you all think it's good as-is?

Yeah, you're right. Sorry, just the idea of being able to strike the Extra Deck before someone can even play it has always bothered me, so I jumped to the worst case scenario. Anyways, it's probably fine as is, though the thing being able to get rid of 20% of the Extra Deck still bothers me a bit. Maybe just include a LP cost or something, like 500-1000 or something. As I said, it's currently 3000 LP to send one of your own cards from the Extra Deck to the Grave. This is like Solemn Striking an Extra Deck monster before it can even be summoned, as it makes it entirely useless unless you have a Miracle Fusion Engine or something, or some way to recover it.

I don't think a cost on top of it's destruction would be necessary, as the card you send is random, so you might end up sending a card your opponent wouldn't use anytime soon anyways.
