Why is Yuri still using the Ancient Gear Deck?

 

I assume because the time and budget for the episode was pressed, because the BETTER thing to have done would be something like fuse for Chimera Rafflesia (yes, i know it only exists in the manga, but it'd be a selling factor for Fusion Enforcers to have Yuri use it in the anime). Then Sora kills it with Mad Chimera, steals it and attacks directly.

 

And then have Yuri play that new Predator Plant, maybe use a support card that puts a Predator Counter on Rafflesia, fuse for Starve Venom, steal Mad Chimera's ATK and effect, kill Chimera, steal Chimera, hit for game with Chimera. It would be ironic, but fitting, because it'd be like the 3rd time that stealing an opponent's monster ended up being your undoing. (Sora vs Shun, Asuka vs Yuri. And then this one). Or hell, just Super Poly with Mad Chimera and Rafflesia.

 

But whatever. Makes no sense to have Yuri still using the Ancient Gear Deck.

Anyway, on topic: I think this card is probably garbage because afaik, Ancient Gears would rather be out on the field than sitting in your hand.

 

As BLASTERZ did say however, this allows you to NS Wyvern, search Catapult and then remove Wyvern so you control no monsters. It is a 3 card combo (wyvern+inspection+something to pop) however, so it's probably not worth it.

I think I'm the only one still making fun of Yugo's hair, though I do recall I wasn't the first to call him Banana (can't remember who was though).

Considering that Yuri is duelling Sora immediately after Alexis, he probably didn't bother or forgot to change his deck, since he's far more invested in carding people and doesn't give a crap to how he does it. By arrow or by sword he will kill for giggles. Plus changing his deck would give Sora time to escape , and as much as he loves hunting people, he has sheet to do.
