Also. Assembly Nightingale with 4 or more Materials and Stoic Challenge. My apologies for the image that'll likely feature in your nightmares, BTW.

 

And don't say you don't have the space for it-Hidden Armory searches it and unless you've got Last Strix combos in hand (y tho, it's jellybeans on a cake here), you're not gonna be using your Normal Summon for anything important

Stoic Challenge is cute, but that's all it is. Your normal summon is pretty important, what with Mystic Piper and Kinka-Byo. Kepler too if you run that engine.

 

Also, your normal summoning Strix is irrelevant, because it can be SS'd by Sapphire.

 

EDIT: The video is also anecdotal. It's only showing games where it has the combo. In any realistic scenario, you're not going to have the combo consistently, esp. if you need to search Stoic, since more often than not, you'll need your normal summon to search the Luscinias, whether to make Starling, or with Where Arf Thou?

Again, Slinky, it not being CyDra Infinity/Crystal Wing/Titanic Galaxy-level powerful does not mean the card sucks.

 

Crime and Punishment can easily help finish off the opponent from a Nightingale rush, btw.

 

I'm just a bit less discriminating in my tastes for what separates okay cards from sucky ones, especially considering cards that show up later on can easily help it tilt the scales. I'm old enough to r'member how everyone ragged on Rescue Cat when it came out. 

 

Piper and Kinkabyo are nice too, but again, this is WIN MOAR. S'more about me talking about a verifiable OTK for the Rank 1s that I happened to like. Felt publicizing it was necessary, considering all the fools on Youtube calling it trash because it's not Toadally incarnate.

 

Point is, the Double L's are good. Could be better, but they'd be fine as is. And I doubt they'll remain as is. Diamond in the rough, here, pal.

Or perhaps more practically, 4 mats and then boost by 1200 - still within Back-Up Rider's range.

 

Maybe run loads of backrow to stall out for those LLs and run Mage Power.

 

Can't use Cat Shark because that works on original ATK.

You can maaaaaybe make a case for Crime/Punishment even if I would call it a ridiculously fragile and predictable lock that's outed by literally any removal, but I would def argue Number Archive is pretty trash

Luscinias are alright even if they're a pain in the ass to spell

Effects kinda boring TBH but no xenophobia and level 1 opens up room for fun memery like with Synchros or something so I'm fine with it

Calm down people. Lyrical deck is actually pretty powerful and fun deck. As of now, I have won most of the duels I have played. And for those of you in doubt, yes, lyrical CAN otk (although most of the duels I won were after turn 1). Just because a deck can`t otk every duel doesn`t mean its trash. But before I get into that, I`ll introduce some moves I saw while playing them.

 

1. The Normal Summon is VERY IMPORTANT. Your whole 1st turn depends on bringing out the 3 lyricals in one turn (although with 2 is enough to stall). How do we do this??? With cards like one for one, for example, where if you do not have turquoise, you can ss from the deck, preferably by discarding a lyrical since turquoise can bring it back. (And thus if the discarded by cobalt, you can search a free level 1, preferably the sapphire). With having a lot of winged beast, you can literrally ss anyone from your hand like Raidraptor. I use allure of darkness to make it more consistent (since I run RR and DD crow and kinkya byo just for that). Also, if you still dont draw into one for one, you can always use ur normal summon to search for sapphire swallow with where ar thou. This ss this card and another monster,preferably another lyrical to bring out your combos. If you still dont get any of those, I bet that you would at least draw into a couple of lyrical to make ur usual play since you now have them on your hand wilhich is perfect!! If you still dont draw ANY of thise cards. You can draw both into kynka byo and twin twister, which kinkya byo can summon back any level 1 discaded. AND if u summon a lyrical, then good stuff happens where you get ur usual combos. This is a hughly consistent deck (not nekroz level obviously but playable consistent).

 

Now for the OTKs. I use "psychic blade" to make my 5 overlay unit lyrical gain 2000 atk. This means that you can attack directly 5 times with a 3000 beater. Now thats some crazy otk. Unfortunately, psychic blade is unsearchable unless you run hidden armory but thats useless cause it takes up your precious normal summon.

 

So what does this deck without OTK??? Well, normally, you just attack with a normally 4 overlay unti lyrical with 800 atk directly and set "harpie feather storm" to make your opponent not play yugioh for their next turn. During your opponent turn, you activate ur xyz eff effect, to literrally have an immortal field (ur monsters cannot be destroyed by battle, card effect, you take no damage AND you have an untargatable lyrical xyz, and plus that, if you have harpie feather storm, your opponent cannot play yugioh for a turn). So you basically stall, then repeat on your turn and attack directly, hopefully winning the duel that turn. If you still can`t, then stall again which if you dnt win by your 3rd turn then you are doing something wrong.

I would like to point out that one of the duels in the video did not involve Stoic Challenge, but instead had Assembly gain 6 Xyz Materials and attack directly with 1200 ATK 6 times.

But yes, I love how this deck is bringing a bunch of the older Xyz support out of the woodwork, and giving the Level 1 engine something to strive towards.

Plus, Assembly and Recite are both rather offensive Rank 1s, which has been rare. Only other truly offense-oriented Rank 1s are Dullahan and Lion Heart.
