Dokutah Posted November 26, 2016 Report Share Posted November 26, 2016 Sauce: https://ygorganization.com/ocg-text-change-for-cyber-blader/ The first change we see is a re-structuring of the effect with the current text format in the OCG. Instead of having 3 separate effects, Cyber Blader now has one effect that grants it its various effects depending on the number of monsters the opponent controls, as usual. This is not a functional change, it merely simplifies how to read the card.The actual change is in the effect that is applied while the opponent controls 3 monsters. Up until now, the continuous effect of Cyber Blader would negate any of the opponent’s effects. With the newest print, Cyber Blader negates only the effects of the opponent that are activated. In other words, it no longer negates effects that do not activate like Majesty’s Fiend, Anti-Spell Fragrance, etc.GX fans may remember that negating a continuous effect is exactly how this card defeated a certain Matador. Some flavor has been lost. As usual, there’s no indication on when this change will arrive to the TCG. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Maeriberii Haan Posted November 26, 2016 Report Share Posted November 26, 2016 Isn't it also a fix to the infamous Pole Position infinite loop? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Expelsword Posted November 26, 2016 Report Share Posted November 26, 2016 Anytime Pole Position is brought up, I must express my feeling that it should be banned on principle. As for this card, seems like a silly change. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Neochu-H Posted November 26, 2016 Report Share Posted November 26, 2016 great, now this card sucks i guess. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~~ Posted November 27, 2016 Report Share Posted November 27, 2016 I'm kinda pissed they did this. It's not like the card needed to be nerfed, and they lost some flavour, which I really value. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sleepy Posted November 27, 2016 Report Share Posted November 27, 2016 Pole Position has more than one infinite loop, and this card negating continuous effects was not just flavor but also crucial. I remember at some point in history making this to get past Jinzo, the Necro Valley lock and ATK/DEF boost, and Swords of Revealing Light. Nowadays the card wasn't even being used. Alexis is pretty much all about Rituals and Rituals don't even have any synergy with this. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
