Darj Posted December 3, 2016 Report Share Posted December 3, 2016 It may be searchable by Oracle and the new Providence, but I don't think it's enough to turn Zefras into something beyond an engine. For starters, if it wants to keep up with the meta, IMO it should be more like Apoqliphort Towers and have a protection from Spell/Traps. The rest of the effects should be fine, even if doesn't have some of them at once like Towers does. Well... maybe you should make the "Effect Monster" effect into a non-plusing effect, or otherwise it can get out of hand if it stacks the "Effect Monster" and the "Xyz, Fusion, Ritual or Synchro Monster" effect. Darj Posted December 4, 2016 Report Share Posted December 4, 2016 Yeah, it looks solid now. I just noticed it's also a "Qliphort" monster, so it's searchable by Scout, Saqlifice, etc. which is sweet. Don't exactly know, outside of Qliphort Builds (and really, considering Scout's at 1, that's usually a sign it's gone sideways), so that first Normal Effect may not be necessary. Effect Monsters (may as well make this a mandatory effect, you need two Zefras to bring this out and they're ALL EFFECT MONSTERS) only work if the attack hits, but usually most of the stuff that'd stop this is considered too slow by today standards, so if you get to this Battle Phase with this, it's okay. Pendulum Effects (again, gonna happen, because Zefras) is nice to counteract everything short of Kaijus. And the Extra Deck effect turns it into proto-Towers. Fine here, but just be careful with the application of that. And of course, stuff your opponent picks the aways of resolution are normally things I frown upon-win on your own stuff and not what your opponent does or don't bother with this game-I'll make exceptions here. -1 is a hard pill to swallow for anyone short of Angel of Zera, this thing might be the necessary evil to make this card usable. Darj Posted December 7, 2016 Report Share Posted December 7, 2016 Oh, yeah, it slipped my mind that the "Effect Monster" and "Pendulum Monster" effects will be practically build-in because of Zefras. You may as well write them as main effects in the card, instead of acquirable effects.Also... I didn't notice it could be summoned with 2 monsters. After the acquisition of the towers-like Spell/Trap immunity, it should be fair to make it require 3 or more monsters now, otherwise a 2-material semi-Towers could get overwhelming... maybe. By the way, I didn't mention the flavor, which I like. I can tell it's intended to be the Sephiroth structure that gave rise to the Zefras. I was thinking you could name it "Sephiroth" instead of "Qliphort" but then it would lose that desirable "Qli" support, so I guess it is fine in its current way.
