NecroLordX
Normal Spell CardReveal 1 card in your hand, then shuffle it into your Deck. Draw cards and reveal them until you draw a card with the same name of the revealed card, after that you lose LP equal to the number of cards you drew x 500, then discard cards until you have 6 or less cards in your hand. You cannot Special Summon during the turn you activated this card.
(GigaDrillBreaker)
This card is dope. The effect is incredibly powerful, as it both allows you to set up a hand and fill your grave, but it is ultimately balanced by three things: It is inconsistent. This card will not always have a high impact. It works amazingly with 1-ofs, but how reliably can you have those in hand? That damage really stacks up. The higher impact the card is, the more damage you are taking. Just digging 8 deep takes you halfway out. This damage makes you increasingly vulnerable to just being wiped out once you pass turn. People classically say "life points don't matter" but those people are wrong. That summon restriction. DAMN. That hurts. It prevents you from immediately capitalizing on the mills and setup, and makes the vulnerability from the burn even more apparent. This would probably work best in a deck that could utilize the grave, while also running lots of traps. Mill out what you want milled, then set 3-4 to keep you alive. Win on the next turn. Only change I would like to see is for you to end with the same number of cards you started with, rather than 6.
Darj
I don't know... I agree it is inconsistent and that the damage is high and can dangerously stack up, but at the same time this card feels like a "Cards of Demise" in crack, in that it has a similar restriction but gives you a hand of 6 cards instead of 3; and well, if there are decks built around Cards of Demise, there can be decks built to make the most out of this one, too. This card looks to me as more of a "win or lose" button, which, although it would not completely destroy the meta given its drawbacks and risks, I don't think it's a good card to make because of that nature. Changing its effect so it makes you end up with hand of the same size as the hand you had when you activated it would make it much more safe and fair, but then you would also be removing this card's original concept.
