Waltz of Whim

[Continuous Spell]

Once per turn, if monsters you control change into the following battle positions in this sequence this turn: You can activate the following effect.

  • Attack Position, Defense Position: Give control of 1 of your Defense Position monsters to your opponent, then take control of 1 of your opponent's Attack Position monsters.

  • Defense Position, Attack Position: Give control of 1 of your Attack Position monsters to your opponent, then take control of 1 of your opponent's Defense Position monsters.

I suppose you could tech this into some random Flip Effect deck or something (pull off effect from low power monster, give it to the opponent and steal a monster that would've walled you otherwise). Suppose the first one would be good to capitalize on piercing damage or something that lets you do stuff if a monster gets destroyed, but yeah, nothing's coming to mind in terms of current relevant stuff. There's probably something, but just not ringing any bells.

Stealing monsters is nice though, and guess it does soften the opponent a little (give them a weak monster either way that messes up their strategy, such as self-destruction if not "pure" field [see BAs if those are relevant nowadays] or a sitting target to inflict damage on them and plus off them [floaters]).

Looks like a really complicated card to use. If you manage to fulfill the condition and take an stronger monster from your opponent, you definitely deserve it. It's not a bad card IMO, but it's really situational and shouldn't fit easily in a lot of decks; in fact, I think you would have to build a deck around this card.

Actually, Darj, I think this might work very well in dustons, giving your opponents your dustons to take control of their more powerful monsters, but, I know diatoms aren't exactly top of the meta, but still, you get my point XD
