Elemental HERO Vast Ocean

lv 4 WATER

Scale 0

Pendulum: If you do not have "Elemental HERO Grand Woodsman" in your other Pendulum Zone, this cards Pendulum Scale becomes 2. Once per turn: you can target 1 "HERO" monster in your graveyard; add the targeted card to your hand. This card can be used as a Fusion Material for a "HERO" Fusion Monster from your Pendulum Zone.

Warrior/Pendulum/Effect

While you control a face-up "HERO" Fusion Monster, this card can attack directly. If this card would be sent to the Extra Deck face-up, send this card to the graveyard instead.

Elemental HERO Grand Woodsman

lv 4 EARTH

Scale 8

Pendulum: If you do not have "Elemental HERO Vast Ocean" in your other Pendulum Zone, this cards Pendulum Scale becomes 5. Once per turn: you can add 1 "Polymerization" or 1 "Fusion" Spell Card that list "HERO" in its card text from either your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. This card can be used as a Fusion Material for a "HERO" Fusion Monster from your Pendulum Zone.

Warrior/Pendulum/Effect

While you control a face-up "HERO" Fusion Monster, this card gains ATK equal to this cards orignal DEF. If this card would be sent to the Extra Deck face-up, send this card to the graveyard instead.

ATK/1000 DEF/2000

 

So with the remastered version of this Pendulum Pair I made ocean and woodsmans capable with Fusing from the Pendulum Zone and being sent to the grave instead of the Extra Deck for miracle Fusion Plays, I also with their Pendulum Effects made them faster versions of their pretrained effects, plus with scale 0 being a thing now made Ocean a scale 0 monster. In addition with the monster effects I gave Ocean its manga effect but instead of Umi its a "HERO" Fusion Monster that needs to be on the field and with Woodsman a similar thing where it becomes a 3000 beatstick while you control a "HERO" Fusion Monster.

I find Vast Ocean mildly appealing, actually. As a Pendulum it can be placed on the field to enable Bubbleman to Special Summon itself, the Pendulum effect grabs a HERO used for Mask Change or detached from a Rank4, plus it's WATER for Toadally Bahamut plays. I say "mildly" because modern HEROes don't really need a card like this; if they did, they would play "The Warrior Returning Alive", plus "Mask Charge" exists, which can fulfill the "grab a HERO from the grave" role, although it is slightly more situational by requiring a "Change" Quick Play spell in the grave too.

 

On the other hand, Woodsman is yet another "Polymerization" searcher, while HEROes already have a Poly searcher member in Blazeman. BUT, combining both lets you to grab Polys earlier, if not 2 in the same turn: 1 from Grand Woodsman, 1 from Blazeman. Although modern HEROes don't run Polys and instead rely on Mask Change and Bahamut Shark (TCG), so you would have to make a Polymerization variant to make full use of this one. If it could grab HERO Fusion Spells like Miracle Fusion and Parallel World Fusion, it could tell a different story, though.

Outside of HEROes, I guess this could see use in Lunalights as a Poly searcher that doubles as a Scale5? IDK.

 

Overall, I see these guys leading to interesting plays by Pendulum Summoning Shadow Mist, Blazeman and/or Stratos (OCG) and trigger their effects without spending the Normal Summon, grabbing up to 2 Polys and re-using Bubbleman by grabbing it back with Vast Ocean for extended Rank4 plays. Not to mention both are highly searchable, with ROTA, Mist, E-Call and Stratos around.

Based on your idea with woodsman I added that it can also search "Fusion" Spell Cards that list "HERO" in its card text.

Whoops, I must have read it wrong. My bad.

Anyways, perhaps make the two of them also be treated as their original forms' names while in the Grave or other specific places so you can use them for Terra Firma should the need ever arise(hey, don't judge, he does some fun things with Absolute Zero).

I'd also love to see other HEROs get the Pendulum treatment(coughBladeMastercough) if you ever find time.
